Hmm...come to think of it, the last "Island off of Miami" cigar that I enjoyed was a Montecristo with my Dad when the Red Sox won the 2004 World Series.

must have been some great memories! cohibas are a good cigar. I like the vanilla flavor cigars, what can I say? I'm a girl.

Bombay all the way!! Love that baby blue bottle! sooo smooth... hate that Tanqueray gets all the hype with people that don't appreciate gin.

No attack at you Dork.. just in general.

The Tanqueray "10" is much better than the regular Tanqueray. I'll take Beefeater's ( a very under rated gin) over regular Tanqueray any day!

My favorite of all is Anchor Junipero... made by Anchor Steam Brewing Co.
right here in the good ole' US of A. If you ask me that blue bottle is like putting putting a pretty dress on a pig! ;-)

Thanks again to everyone for their kind words! I've more wobblers to take picture of later, but for now, I wanted to share something that a neighbor gave me. He tracked down a couple of pictures of the diner where the panels came from for my livingroom bar/wall.

are they original prints? or photo copies? do you have them hanging? we got some prints from a pub in Scotland that my father in law lived by. It was called spotted dog. it was pretty neat sadly it was torn down :( We tried to find the original sign that hung outside but it's no where to be found. even a replica would be cool.

These are the original walls from the outside of the diner, which stood between 1922 to late 1971.

The photos I posted are scanned from a book on the history of Athol, MA.

I hung up the photos a while ago, and it is nice seeing the connection between what was (the diner) and what is now (the bar). It makes for a great conversation piece, but of course the whole house is!

Now...the reason I'm replying in this older thread is that I am finally about to post new pictures.

As I mentioned to Cathy, I live in an old church which, if you look at the pictures in this thread, was radically renovated downstairs. The upstairs has a couple of bedrooms and a "great room" which still has the beautiful old pews, a piano, riser w/podium/lectern, etc. Now filled with wobblers...much more than I thought that I owned! (And that is without the items coming from Maria, the crystal Wild Bill, and Blonde Pez nurse from Bobbleboy). I think I went a little crazy.

So....I've been waiting to finally do this...

You are all invited to a quadruple wobbler wedding at my home...the First Church of Fun!

I'll be taking photos this week and hope to have them up by Friday!!

Thanks Jen, David & Katie (I mean Cathy)!

When I first started setting them up, I never figured that I'd fill all the pews...let alone the other areas...let alone have to set boxes up behind the last pew to create another row! No wonder I'm broke! (might have to pare back the collection a bit)

I'll try to take the pics tomorrow/Wednesday and get it all posted ASAP.

Having a bummer of a day, so I ended up trying to take the pictures tonight (maybe to cheer me up), but ran into problems with my camera not focusing correct w/out the flash on, plus I think I got a bit frustrated...I'm not 100% pleased with how they came out....BUT....I should be posting them later tonight (after I make some supper). Afterwards, if anyone wants a close up or better take, I could redo some shots. :dontknow:

I haven't eaten yet, but it is in the oven...a Digiorno works pizza I doctored up with fresh tomato, jalapenos, green olives, marinated mushrooms, anchovies & added mozzarella on top. Over the top, maybe, but sounded like comfort food while I was getting it ready to cook.

Before I check on supper, let me post a couple of my house...earlier in this thread you saw downstairs, these outside shots were from when I bought it (hence the spring/summer foliage). In fact, one of the pictures still shows the lettering "First Church," which the previous owner had to remove in order for me to buy the place (bank's demand).

Image Image Image

Front & side, the back (w/my shed...yes, looks like a church), and a postcard-like shot

I'll take you inside in a bit.

While we wait for the bride...let's look down the right side again...

Image

Ratfink in his sparkly purple hot rod has a special seat in the house! (I need to get his green car brother)

Image Image Image

The drive-in crew are all aligned to catch the wedding in the comfort of their cars (no room in the pews!)

Image

Ah...the Spastiks have their own special seating! Lucky them. If only the original El Guappo was here. Maybe someday...
