Comic Con & Fun Days UPDATE

Sorry about being so scarce lately...

But working our tails off on a bunch of new secret licenses that we will unveil details on at Fundays..

The BIGGEST news is that on May 17th..Comic Con allows Funko to start the process of buying passes, so I can begin to let Funatics know how many I can help out for Comic Con..Please also keep in mind fanatics always find a way to get into the show..and of course Fun Days need no Comic Con passes

So keep a bit of patience, and I will provide more information soon...

And I will be providing an official sign up thread for Fun Days tomorrow..again do not miss out.
An amazing amount of giveaway items...better than any year past.....I promise..

i was looking into the info and i dont think ill be able to make it. travel times are around 9 hours for me each way with layovers and i dont think my ankle will be able to do the flight going to the event and the return flight in a eekend. would be way too much for me to be able to do i think. too bad i really wanted to make it

OK... medical issues aside for a moment... I know how that can hamper traveling...

Being an East Coaster myself... let me see if I have this straight...

You guys want Funko to hold Fundays outside of the SDCC (the largest convention of any type across the country, providing them the most exposure) on the East Coast, despite the obvious fact that they are located on the West Coast, and also despite the enormous cost of travel and shipping to get everyone and everything to the East Coast?????

Frankly, with the only exception being the New York International Toy Fair (industry only) there is no event that could possibly be lucrative enough to have Funko travel 3000+ miles with all their stuff. We are fortunate to have SDCC, otherwise I think we'd be going to the Seattle area... Fundays have evolved into an amazing event... and its not one that should be hopping all over the continent. Easier for Funko means more goodies for those who attend... simple math!

As a fellow East Coaster... you need to suck it up and save for a trip out west... That's what the rest of us East Coasters do. Trust me... You'll have the time of your life and it's will be worth every penny! If you can't justify a plane ticket and a shared hotel room to go to Fundays... well... There's not much that can be said. Those who do make the trip will be richly rewarded not only in Funko goodies but a lifetime of memories and friendship.

And, Vinny, as has been said before in other threads, Funatics have been known to take care of their fellow Funatics. Most of us who will be there will not be able get one of everything, there's just not enough of stuff to go around - especially at Funday. But all who attend will collectively get everything. And those of us who get the pre-buy or attend the Con, will surely have items they do not want or will get extras at the Funko booth to help non-attendees. Then, as every year when we all return home, you can expect many items to be up for sale, trade, contested or gifted.

You may miss out on the experience of being there in person and of meeting and making new friends face to face, but between us Funatics and Gemini, there should be enough Funko to catapult around the globe from Funatics to Funatics.

I've already got a cabinet full of extra Pop! that I've collected as I've seen them at B&N, and will unleash them along with some stuff that I will pick up at the Con and Funday after I return home.

So you may want to drop the dis, and simply remain happily gruntled. ;-)

To all you new folk, that are agonizing about not being able to go this year: start saving up now for next year. Putting away 10 or 20 dollars a week to save for a plane ticket will help immensely. Don't worry yourselves about obtaining Fun Days or Comic Con pieces, some of the very rare ones like the Freddy pop chases will be hard to get whether you attend Fun Days or not. But the people on this board will be more than helpful and generous. Just as a quick example, I was able to get two of the LE48 Freddy pops completely gratis and got the rest at a more than fair price.

Craig I sure I will scratch and claw my way into picking up most of what I want from fd/sdcc (except the crazy rare pops like /12s or so) I was more looking forward to meeting everyone then the actual items as odd as that sounds. 2013 be prepared lol
