20" Wobbler Bases (Bubbled)

Postby poppetmaster » Sat Feb 27, 2016 11:50 pm

Anyone have a 20" Wobbler where the base is bubbled outward? I have a 20" Count Chocula and the base was not even...half of the bottom bowed/bubbled outward, causing it to not sit on a flat surface evenly. I used a heat gun and was able to heat it up and push it inward and once it cooled down, it stayed that way...now it's flat for the most part on the bottom. I was wondering if anyone else ever saw this or not...or if it's a common issue with this bigger pieces?

I don't think a hairdryer will cut it on the 20 incher...that vinyl is pretty thick. The heat gun made it just pliable enough to push it inward and it cooled down pretty quick.

I boiled water then placed my wobblers in it then once I pushed it in I ran it under cold water. They harden faster. :) I had that with my Tiki and Count Chocula. I guess its pretty common :)

Not sure I have a pot big enough to fit the base of 20" in lol lol

I'm sure that would've been better than the heat gun, since there is a potential for melting with the heat gun. But it worked out in this instance.

I've had to do this for a few "forward leaning" wobblers and it worked quite well :thumbleft:

Time to bring out the big pot. I also have several with that problem. My Sundays 10 Freddy Pez Zombie is leaning forward so much he looks like he's ready to pounce. Been reluctant to shove this guy into the caldron.

Couple of the ones I have did that as well. I haven't tried to correct them though.

Very common to see leans and uneven bases with the larger wobblers. You see it a lot with the banks as well

Interesting...I wonder why they don't fix it from the get go.
