Funko Trading Cards

Postby nyc_collector315 » Sun Aug 05, 2018 10:50 pm

Would anybody be interested in Funko trading cards. I collected baseball and basketball cards when i was younger and it was a ton of fun. All your favorite lines and characters in pop form on trading cards. Will include numbered exclusives at comic cons, metallic, gitd, chrome, chase, and many more card variants. Thought it would be a cool idea and would be easy for people to carry around an album and buy/sell/trade with one another. Great idea or stupid?

I would actually love this idea. As a kid I collected pokémon cards abd I've passed that on to my son now. I think we would both be interested in the idea.

You could own the card of the piece that you can't afford. Make cards of all the vaulted items through the years.

Yeah, I much prefer the idea of having actual physical cards rather than digital ones on Quidd.

Oh I agree never understood the purpose of digital collectibles/stickers except to take the hard earned money out of parents hands. Mainly because kids don't understand physical anymore as everything is online and digital to them, and they want to have all the extra packs, and collectibles, or gear etc for games.

Definitely reminds me of Quidd...but I'd say it would be a great idea if it were a trading card game :)

Endless possibilities for deck building :))

Yeah I don’t even wanna think about how much money I blew on trading cards, I was big on sports, basketball mostly. I even collected movie cards like T2 n Batman. There was rockstar/hip hop cards too. Also when Xmen TAS came out I started collecting comicbook cards too. I think there all in a box hidden in storage.

I would be very tempted to get some if they were made! I'm a sucker for holofoils lol. Think about all the variants they could do with the cards! Big possibilities!

I actually made my own cards. Not for trading or selling, but to track my collection. Having a visual is a lot better than reading names off a spreadsheet. It gets confusing when you have 20 "Batman"

I agree I think this would be cool for the right price. I remember when things like non-sports trading cards exploded and so did their prices and then of course that bubble burst. As I have stated in a previous post I am the type that creates lists of things and I have done so previously created a list of my favourite non-sport trading cards (excluding collectible card games which get their own list). Of course as is my rule so as to not be exhaustive in the length of list I followed my rule and cut myself off at 64 items. But yes this is a long winded was of saying I would like to have these.

I would love this! I collect pokemon and magic the gathering, so I'd be down to expand my tcg collection with funko cards! Would be cool if they were slipped into pop boxes, or the cereal boxes!

I was thinking of this the other day again and I have above stated I'd love the trading cards, but being a 90's collector of all things Pop Culture I'd love to see a set of Milk Caps (POGS) as well. Any thoughts on this people?

Is not bad. Let see if Funko will come out with trading cards and maybe some other special inserts in the packs to chase for.

They could add them as an insert with the Pop. They're already doing insert advertisements for DC Legion of Collectors.

I'm wondering the same. I'm pretty sure they're exclusive to EE and also saw someone mentioned something about the possibility of a "chase" card.

It’s a foil card, I didn’t see what the rarity of them are but I think it’ll be a pain to get every single one.

I think that would be a great idea. They could also have a Pop Sports card line where you can get hockey, basketball, baseball, football etc. Maybe also a designer line where Funko artists draw Pops they would like to see made and they would be special variants.

Slightly off topic, but I was just thinking about a deck of Funko Playing Cards.
Here are some of my thoughts on this:

1-Have a deck dedicated to different lines; a deck of HP, Marvel, DC, you name it...
2-Have a deck where each suit )Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, Clubs) is a different line...

Thoughts? Would you buy?
