The thing is if Funko spent the money to wide release these characters that only hardcore fans know then it would not sell well. The box is for those hardcore fans and that's a way for Funko to get these lesser known characters out there without losing money
See, I'd be fine with that.

If they didn't use main characters as advertising points. Alright, so for example. Han is on all the advertisements for the damn box. All of them. And Greedo. So...

Spoiler: show
Don't put him on the damn advertisements, because from what it looks like, he's not anywhere in the damn box. The dude who made the scene famous isn't even in here. What? What did that falcon hint have to do with anything then?

It's overall annoying. I think the box would sell just fine if they released it for the casual fan. And I think there's enough Star Wars collectors that would buy a side character.

Spoiler: show
Han is on the shirt

Spoiler: show
Are there multiple shirts?

Spoiler: show
in the picture posted in this thread there was a wanted shirt with muftak pictured instead of han

Spoiler: show
I am just OK with the box. This box had the potential to be something great. I like having a new character and new molds. Though if they had picked any other character, the box would have been great. Literally, almost anyone else, be it Han, Greedo, Ponda, Dr., or other band members.

They promised two molds, they gave us 2 molds. Still don't see the Kessel run though :p

haven't gotten mine yet, but I think it looks amazing. stuff like this is really separating the true Star Wars fans from the crowd. anyone who loves the franchise AND has a history with collecting its stuff probably has no complaints. could other characters have been considered? sure. but this is anything but a letdown, in my opinion.

Are you trying to imply people who are let down by this aren't true Star Wars fans?

I adore Star Wars. Absolutely love it and have for awhile.

Catch is.

Spoiler: show
I don't have the room for a character that maybe appeared in the movie for five damn seconds without any importance. Popa or Dr. Would have made more sense. Who the hell is Snaggletooth? I only got so much room I'm dedicating to collectibles.

Seriously, I feel like it's a speciality amongst Star Wars hardcore fans to be happy about getting the most irrelevant character in any form of collectible. Because I don't see it with many other fanbases.

Spoiler: show
Throwback to when Marvel released Morbius and people were up in arms about that.

I think the problem is, some people don't have a ton of room. Even if you do, the character is a dust collector. Which amazingly defines his role in the franchise.

This has always been a Star Wars kind of thing, going way back to the original toy line. Even the current toy line has characters you might not have caught in the movie.

Although I was admittedly disappointed at first...
Spoiler: show
I do give props to Funko for pushing the envelope and REALLY going with a character that "no one will expect/is less obvious" as they hinted at previously. You really can't please everyone with this type of thing, but I'm happy that it's two pops, two new molds, and I wouldn't be able to get them outside the subscription. My disappointment stemmed mostly from what I'd pictured in my head which seemed within reason yet still epic: a detachable arm Ponda, or a hideous faced Evazan. Seriously, how cool would Evazan's disfigured face be in pop form?

Yep, Who knows what the collectible/toy industry would be like if Lucas didnt milk fans for as much money as possible.

Didnt Lucas even admit he would put extra characters in the films just so he could makes toys of them later.

I’m not implying anything. I’m flat out saying it.

Spoiler: show
Nearly every huge Star Wars collector is more than familiar with Snaggletooth. He’s been a figure since 1978 and was among the franchise’s very first toys. There have been several versions of him, both red and blue. Hell, he got more screen time than the highly sought after Shadow Trooper, which was never even in a movie. Nobody who is really serious about Star Wars collectibles is complaining, I wouldn't think.

I’m sure that you ARE a true Star Wars fan, but this is the sorta stuff that separates the men from the boys. If you don’t have room in your collection for everything, then maybe a mystery box isn’t for you. Stick to buying stuff that you know you’ll want. But the people who are willing to blindly spend money on a box of random items -- with the only guarantee being that it’s filled with Star Wars stuff -- I’d be willing to bet they’re happier with characters that are more obscure, and will gladly make room in their collections for such Pops.

I'm surprised, but I'm not let down. I paid $200 up front for EXCLUSIVE Star Wars Pop! Vinyl. I think this was a really cool nod to Star Wars toy history. I have plenty of main characters; I want the other stuff! I'm happy with it, but I only buy SW. However, I would have chosen more members of the Modal Nodes. :)

The

Ben Kenobi pop

makes this box worth it for me. If I get a cool shirt, cool. If not, I'll eBay it. I'll eBay the other pop, too, just cause I don't care for it.
Spoiler: show
I think everyone was let down it wasn't an armless Ponda Baba, including myself. Definitely a missed opportunity. But, oh well. Snaggletooth honestly isn't a surprise, but I had hoped Funko would go higher up on the pyramid than HIM. C'est la vie. Happy to see he got made, though, and that people will enjoy him. Just not for me. Still cant wait to have that Ben Kenobi on my shelf.

I am thrilled we got a snaggletooth, there being a blue variant possibly is an awesome nod to old school collectors. One of the most valuable and saught after characters is the blue, tall snaggletooth and I am glad they gave a tip of the hat to collectors who have been around. But I am also keen to see if they put out a pair of misnamed 4-LOM and Zuckuss

I thought Funko specifically said there were NO CHASE pieces in this box. That means they are 50/50 on which you get. Now, with that said...that doesn't mean one isn't going to be more sought after than the other and cost more in the aftermarket.

No...just more valuable.
Spoiler: show
A chase piece is one whose ratio is higher than 1:1...MCC Morbius and Zombie Morbius was 50/50 (1:1) so it was NOT a chase. The two Tie Fighter's were a 1:5 ratio, with the red stripe being the chase piece. This coming directly from Funko. They stated there would be NO chase piece in this box. Either someone was lying, or this is a 50/50 (1:1) like Morbius was.
