Are we getting cheated on the LoT subscription???

Postby aswjmw » Sat Apr 15, 2017 10:26 am

So, every other box has had multiple pop boxes, pop ride boxes, but the LoT?!?!
How come????? Smugglers bounty has had 2 pops or a ride almost every month. Same with collector corps. Even disney has a pop and a dorbz ride.

LoC has had some of the better boxes overall, IMO, so I don't think you're getting gypped.

You can always cancel if you're unhappy.

Some people are never satisfied, maybe you should just cancel if you are not happy.

I'm just glad Funko doesn't make those ugly action figures in the other boxes. I feel bad for you LoC guys.

Hey, at least LoC never had a box with no Pops and a scarf.

Just saying.

For what the boxes cost I feel we are getting a great value.

The boxes definitely meet the $25 value, if you've been unhappy just unsub.

Comparatively they are unbalanced, but I have never thought it wasn't worth the price of admission. I'm kind of jealous of the Disney treasures patches coming together as a set.

I'm not subbed to LOC but I do always like the pops in those boxes. Everything else is usually debatable IMO.

This whole thread should be deleted, as the title contains a racial slur.

Personally I share the OP's opinion that the LoC sub is the forgotten stepchild of the Funko subs. The content seems consistently lazy to me. The only item I've been remotely interested in out of all the boxes was the superman/aquaman Dorbz set. I picked it up on eBay for like 5 bucks shipped. Now granted I'm not the world's biggest DC fan, but I'm not the world's biggest Marvel fan either and the content of that sub has kept me buying boxes even after putting my sub on hold. SB, MCC and Disney (so far) have supplied a lot of "WOW" factor, LoC is more like "oh I guess that's OK" factor.

Actually came here to say just this. (◡‿◡✿)

And agree with the general sentiment here - it's unfortunate you're unhappy, but no one is forcing you to subscribe to the box.

I think I get where the feeling is coming from. If looked at by itself the DC box is great. It's a good value and you get some interesting things. But the other boxes seem to be stepping things up in a HUGE way. That first Disney box was full of amazing and the lastest Marvel ones have been including increasingly interesting things. My personal fave is the Star Wars box with the Pop Deluxes and mini Hikari. With the inclusion of new and interesting lines I think that the LoC box has been just a tad disappointing in comparison in the past. I do have high hopes for the upcoming Wonder Woman box and feel like all the boxes have continued to get better and better, so maybe that feeling that LoC is slightly lagging behind will change.

I agree with this sentiment. I have enjoyed all but one LoC box, but to compare them to the more recent offerings in the other subs, they do seem....lacking.

I agree that the LoC box has the potential to be amazing all of the time but seems to get the shaft most of the time.
Yes, the box does meet the $25 worth of merch. But when other boxes are getting multiple pops, rides, 6" pops, & deluxe pops for the same price...one can get a bit upset. On top of the fact that almost every box comes with those action figures that no one likes...you do start to feel a bit unappreciated.
As others have said, you can always unsub. I had planned on it and just go box to box but forgot to change my plan lol
After this year I won't make that mistake again.

The LoC box is the only one I plan on keeping going. I've had and cancelled and resubbed to the other boxes, and am still on the fence how long my Disney sub will last. As a DC fanboy, I keep going because of the "potential", but those action figures...
Need something super special this year to maintain my optimism.

I'm sure it was an honest mistake, I never use the word "gypped" but I was completely unaware it was considered a racial slur until Googling it after reading your post.

I understand that most people don't realize it's a racial slur, which is why I pointed it out. It's a lot more well known in Europe as opposed to the US.

This. I'm in the same boat where I feel it's worth the money like they all are but the other boxes have been getting some awesome items whereas the LoC boxes are sticking to their same layout. I haven't ordered a LoC box since DCTV but I would come back if they hit us with an awesome 2-pack or ride like the other boxes have been doing.

In its current state, LoC is really the weakest of the boxes. Not to say it's horrible as some boxes have been excellent such as DC TV or Batman Villains. Others have been total disasters to me such as the SS box or the Women of DC. The Superman box at least had a really good POP and a Pocket POP to soothe my frustration with the included figure. If I want action figures, I'll buy action figures and not a Funko box. Stylized vinyl figures are why I buy Funko products, not barely articulated dollar store figures. I have a really bad feeling I'm gonna be seeing one in the Wonder Woman box and it'll be another botch on Funko's part. Personally, I'd much prefer another Dorbz 2 pack like the BvS box with Amazon WW and Hippolyta. It would do wonders for the reputation of the LoC subscription.

Another DC "action figure" will likely drive me to stop my LoC box for good.

The action figures are not particularly my favorite, but I can't imagine we'd get one for Wonder Woman since we already got her action figure with the jet? Maybe? Hopefully?

I love your comparison list! This is what we are seeing every time we blindly order a LoC box and watch the other sub spoiler videos. We sign up for a full year because we love Funko and we love DC. We see the other boxes hoping that the LoC will hit those same strides....just to be kicked in the teeth with lazy, disappointing boxes.
DC started the Funko POP crazy but the LoC sub box is totally forgotten when it comes to the sub boxes.

I've never really had problem with what's inside box, it's the condition of the Pop! inside the box. I stopped subscribing because the boxes always came damaged, it got frustrating with zero chance of replacement boxes

I think part of it is bad timing... you imagine the box that might have come if they were doing boxes during The Dark Knight trilogy? I think they should do a Brandon Routh 2-pack ;)
