Recently started researching Dorbz and came up with some confusions.
1. What IS the price (MSRP) for a Dorbz? I heard $7.99 then $8.99. Certainly I heard it was less than Pop! which retailed for $9.99 and more recently to $10-$10.99. Yet I see some Dorbz on eBay at $8.99 up to $10 for current mass produced pieces available everywhere they need to be available. I also seen some at $8.99 on eBay that have a sticker for $9.99 from wherever the person bought it from (in person).
2. Will Dorbz exclusives become just like Pop! exclusives in regards to country/area? I mention this because popcultcha got some SDCC Dorbz available at close to convention retail. This worries me as some 500 Pieces LED Dorbz can be bought for $50 currently on evilbay and some collectors might not want to shed that money out if popcultcha will get them eventually.
Same situation as Pop?

I can't provide any insight on your second question, but as far as the first one goes, eBay asking prices aren't the best way to judge "retail" prices on anything. That's probably the last place you should look for accurate pricing to be honest.
I've seen Dorbz priced at $7.95 in Barnes and Noble, which is the cheapest retailer for Pops as well. Gamestop is similarly priced at $7.99. Hot Topic prices them at $10.50, but they're always on the high end of pricing anything.

Yeah that's true about Hot Topic yet they do so to balance out with their usual BOGO half (at least back then). So, what is the actual MSRP for a Dorbz?

Re: Same situation as Pop?
I would say 7.99 is the msrp. That's what most stores are selling them for, EE, Gemini, B&N, Gamestop, etc. With the BOGO, HT works out to be about 7.88. I don't about the exclusives though. I would assume any pieces that retailer like PC receive that are numbered would be part of the numbered amount, and "limited edition" being like the pops with no actual limit.

well, the convention pieces have stickers on them, stickers go for at least $40. then factor in the box, another $10. if it comes with a figure, you might get another $1 out of it

You guys are lucky - they cost around £10 in the UK which is just over $15! That's what's put me off buying them so far. I do really like them, though.

7.99 is the low average I've seen..but at HT bogo50% makes them the best place to get them!

Ebay is the perfect example of supply and demand in today's culture. People can hike prices up simply because they will get it. If they cannot sell pieces at that price they will either have to let the product set on a shelf or lower the price.
As far as the rest of the answers to the first question, I think everyone else hit that one well.
For the second question, that is where the ultimate question comes. Do you it now at $40 and risk the disappointment of finding it cheaper later, or roll the dice and try to wait and just see the Ebay price climb? I have seen this go both ways. It is just that, a game of chance.

What Funko collector hasn't rolled the dice hoping to get it when it's cheaper...but all those poor PA Vegeta people found out that waiting for it to come down was definitely not a good idea. I don't see dorbz hitting such high prices ever, but they are still pretty new, and the more collectors flood the market looking for them, the more ridiculous eBay prices will go, for sure!

If you're looking for some current discounts, my local Gamestops have marked them down to $5.95 clearance and they had many, many in stock.
