Monster Party Series 1

So I got offered what I considered a really good deal on a set of the Monster Party still in tubes. Were these made as a licensing on the 1960's Mad Monster Party movie or something else? I love the look of them but just can't find out much about them. Anyone knows some history on them id love to hear it.

Yes from Mad Monster Party. Gemini is selling both series on their site although I don't know if they're in tubes. Series 1 is $60 I believe...series 2 is only $20.

Awesome, I saw them on there. I lucked into a set of series one for 25$ so may have to grab up the series two set today.

Know anything more about why they made them? Seems a very odd movie to select, i remember watching it some years ago but was someone at Funko a fan?
