I want more Vinyl Idolz

Does anyone have some inside information on these? I'm just curious as they seem to be coming out very very slow, and I am dying for more to come out that I want to own. I already have Stan Lee and want Superman, but there are a lot of other characters I'd fork over the money to own. I've already listed my wants in another thread, so I won't do it again here, I really just wanted to know if anyone else has more information. Things seem to be pretty quiet about them right now.

Worlds end would be fantastic! Finish the Trilogy! I love the Vinyl Idolz. Also Loved when gamestop put them on super clearance

I would just love more info from someone with inside information, to know if more are coming out this year.
It's a great line, so more of them would be nice. I'd love to have a high shelf near the ceiling with a row of ones I love!

I guess info on this line is pretty scarce, we haven't even gotten any in SDCC so far. Bummer, because I'd love a bunch of they made more of ones I'd love.

I feel like I'm being annoying about this, but was there any chatter at SDCC about future Vinyl Idolz? I feel like they released a bunch and then nothing since then. I really like the style but a lot of the characters already released aren't for me.

I'd guess they are rethinking the size. They made them so large that the incentive to buy more than a couple was diminished.

I hope not. I love the size of them. The large round base takes up room but they are definitely one of my favorite of the newer lines, along with Hikari of course.

Oh yeah, I follow him. It's a bummer though because so many I see that I'd want, and they don't get made by Funko.

Any word on new items? VI's is easily one of the coolest lines Funko offer but one that seems to have stopped way too suddenly

I keep finding these more and more desirable, just wish they were in more stores because I never see them out. I've got about 3 or 4 I'm still wanting to pick-up!

I have picked up a few VIs and they are pretty cool. I almost would think they would sell better in small numbered/limited release like with Hikari. Some of my GSs in the area still have a ton of VI on clearance and they aren't moving off shelves very quickly. Kind of like the first Dorbz...they were over-ordered and have been clogging up retail space for forever, preventing new product from being ordered/offered.

There is a great IG account for VI fans....its digital art but very awesome stuff - check out Kibookied

I would love to see more of these too! I only have two (Kramer & Newman from Seinfeld) but I really like the designs, especially some of the concept arts I've seen on the Kibookied Instagram page . Some of those would make amazing figures !

Glad to see I'm still not the only one wanting more of these!! I admit there aren't a ton I'd want to buy, but if they made very specific characters I'd want, I wouldn't hesitate. I just wish there were more options, and I hope this line doesn't die out before it's given a good chance.

Hoping for more Vinyl Idolz in 2017. Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Predator, William Wallace, Freddy Krueger, The Flash...maybe classic Superman instead of the new one. I'd buy quite a few of them!

I LOVE my Vinyl Idolz. I don't have a ton (maybe a dozen). Was really bummed there weren't any SDCC/NYCC exclusives this year.

Nothing I'm dying for on that list, really wish they would make some Marvel characters, besides Stan Lee of course. I guess they are focusing more on Rock Candy now, so these will probably not last very long, or get made. Blah.

I don't know the state of vinyl idols, but if they ever came out with Rasputin and/or Steve Buscemi for this line (or perhaps any line), I'd be all over that.

I'd love more of the Evilcorp designs to get made - the designer at least was aware of, and brilliantly captured, the atmosphere of several cult properties that rarely get a look-in on the merchandise side of things. It's a shame that most of those designs seem to have been for fun rather than for profit!

I remember there was a concept of Dr. Strange that I loved! Him, Daredevil, Blade, Iron Fist, Power Man, Spider-Man and The Collector (perhaps with a Howard) would be cool for sure!

I'm hoping we see more Idolz. They are one of my favorite Funko lines and the artwork kibookied posts on his social media show pretty amazing possibilities for expansion, especially with his recent rick and morty post.

YES! I follow him too and it always hurts a little seeing some of it because I doubt we'll get to own a piece since a lot of it never gets made.

Funko seems to be focusing on size lately (Vinyl Vixens have been replaced by Rock Candies (which I fortunately like a lot better design-wise) and Hikari seem to be steadily being replaced Mini Hikari), which is a shame because it's the size and detail of these VI's that I loved the most. Marty and Doc look phenomenal, and they look like they have a solid weight to them. At only $20 a figure, these were well on their way to becoming my favorite Funko product when they were first revealed.

I think Funko has heard from a lot of collectors on this board that they're running out of room to showcase their Funko stuff, which is why they unveiled Dorbz and Pint Size Heroes (along with Rock Candies and Mini Hikari). I understand where the company is coming from; who has the space to buy Vinyl Idolz with their enormous bases, especially if they already have hundreds of Pops? The answer is to stop selling big figures and focus on pushing the smaller ones.

It's disheartening, because I really feel as if this line never reached its full potential. For every noteworthy character we saw get the Vinyl Idolz treatment, there were just as many who awkwardly didn't really have an audience (Fast Times at Ridgemont High? Say Anything? Dodgeball?).

Unfortunately, due to licensing, we probably never would've seen a Marvel or Star Wars Vinyl Idolz figure, which probably hindered the line a lot. Still, the Ghostbusters, Seinfeld, Simon Pegg/Nick Frost, and Young Frankenstein figures look incredible! It's just a shame they didn't/continue not to sell.

Thanks for the reply. I'm absolutely gutted. I know I'm in the minority but Im not a fan of the POP figures. I really prefer the Idolz for display purposes. Hopefully they bring out something similar soon.

I loved them a lot as well. I recently have been finding some at affordable rates on Offer Up and Craigslist. I need to finish my Ghostbusters set. Sadly two years ago GameStop was selling Vinyl Idolz for $5 a piece. I should have jumped on them. Story of a collectors life!
