What draws you to the Spastik?

Postby BRiley0216 » Fri Aug 10, 2018 6:47 pm

So of all the things in the world you chose to be interested in Spastiks, but why? For me i love how they are a trademark of a certain era of Funko. I feel they're are fewer and fewer spastik collectors every year but i dont see myself stopping anytime soon.

I only have one Spastik in my collection, but I do like them a lot. They all have very unique designs, and I like that about them.

Yeah.. I love the design and very retro feeling/style they convey. I think many Funko Collectors may lean younger than some of us, and don't fully appreciate the era-designs they're invoking. Oh well, whatever floats your boat right?

I am drawn to them due to their unique designs and the colors that come with those designs. Otto is my favorite of the bunch!

I've seen the majority of you say kind of the same thing that brought me into it and that was that they're all cool original designs

Yeah I have to agree with everyone else here. The original character designs are amazing!
I know the majority of people who collect the older and more original funko products have been collecting for a very long time. But I actually didn't get into collecting until around 2015 and even then I only collected deadpool pops. But ever since I discovered original funko characters like bone daddy and el diablo, that's all I collect now and I love it.

They’re kind of crazy characters, the essence reminds me of these toys I had a kid called Guts. They came in a little plastic tube with a bunch packed in there. They had random stuff from robots to muscle dudes with hair like Stallone, it has that feel of random crazy ideas we had in our notebook as kids.

Probably the first line I saw that I knew immediately I had to try and collect. Its a combination of the characters and the style of figure for me. Their scarcity just adds to the fun of trying to track them down.

The spastik designs are some of the nicest pops that Funko puts out. I just don't have the room to add them in original or Pop! form, though I do appreciate them.

They are unique, wacky characters that tell their own story. I want to know more about the cow cook holding a steak or the pig chef holding a butcher knife behind his back. They are almost a little tongue in cheek with subtle humor to them.

It's great to learn the history behind companies and these are a part of Funko history. These also look great in POP form. Can't wait to see more of the unreleased characters get the POP treatment.

Singing the same tune as everyone else here, but the unique and fun designs of the characters is what really drew me in. Don’t have a ton of original Spastiks, but I have all the pops (sans the FDO chases).

Since they don't have their own origin stories, you get to invent your own story. I also like that since they are not licensed from another company, Funko can do what they will with them. I just with they would make a mystery mini set.

I love the crazy characters. They are completely original and have the wildest colors for some. Remind me alot of old skate board images. One of my favorits is el supremo and that's cause I have always like Mexican wrestling culture
