Should I Sell my Funko Pop Boxes?

Postby slayers94rx7 » Sat Jun 08, 2013 12:03 pm

Before I put this in the Sales and Trades part of the forum, I wanted to get peoples opinions about selling my Funko Boxes. I am at least over 100 Funko Pops, all except for rare Funko Pops, have been taken out of the box. I have a closet full of the empty Funko Boxes. Running out of room. I don't want to sell the boxes, I would rather hold on to them, so one day if I have to sell any Funkos, I would at least have the box to go with it. On the other hand, I would rather have the Funkos themselves now and sacrifice not having the boxes to free up space. If anyone out there is in the same situation, what would you do?

Thanks,

Eric

Most out-of-box collectors have flattened the boxes, marked & stacked the plastic inserts. Takes less space to store them.

Tho I've seen many a box for sale/gift, and have been in need of an empty or two myself.

I say flatten and store them, just in case you ever want to sell the figures.

^ This!
I flatten mine and the inserts fit nicely together. Take up about 1/4 of the room. I put them in boxes and have a list so I know where everything is for when I need them.

Personally, I would never buy a Pop without a box so if you ever go to sell them. Just saying...

I've been debating what to do with boxes, too. Right now I'm displaying in box, but already I have no space. Plus, unless it's an exclusive, out of the box displays have the ability to show off all the small details.

I think I'm going to store them flat, but the clam-shell sorting sounds like a sticky situation. Or maybe I'm just lazy.

Keep em. Personally, I would never buy a Pop without the box.

Thank you for all of the replies. I will flatten the boxes and probably use sticky notes to label the plastic inserts. Hopefully that will free up a decent amount of space.

Sticky notes are clumsy and fall off when stacking the inserts. From experience I put a piece of painters tape on mine. The tape is not tacky so it comes off easily and then I mark on the tape which box it goes with using permanent marker. Hope this helps.

I've been scared to unbox mine because of the inserts but labeling is a good idea. Simple enough... Why didn't I think of that lol

I think I'm going to have to flatten mine. I've got mine taking up a family room closet and I started using a hall closet. I'll like the idea of the painters tape. Maybe that's a project for my daughters. :-k

I have an open packing box that I am working on. I'll take a picture this week and show you what it looks like.

Really? Cool.

Protos don't come in boxes. One less competitor. Rock on!
