Agreed. Freddy has def lost some appeal. It’s Freddy fatigue tbh but I do think if they decide to keep pumping out Freddy’s at least make it so they’re actually limited. Freddy I feel like was should be something that is coveted and limited, not mass produced which is a weird thing to say considering it’s a Funko product lol.

As long as there are cool designs, we can continue with the Freddy variants

Agree....Keep them limited! I still love them but it is fatiguing. I do like the NFTs because they are limited and can be a challenge to get.

Part of the allure for Freddy for me outside of being a mascot, was him being tied to special events/conventions. I like the idea of him being the royalty for NFTs but the random shop Freddys could be toned down. I will say however I really loved the happy Birthday Freddy from a little while back!

I always wondered if I'd tire of seeing Freddy pops versus 'regular' pops... but I don't think that day will ever come.

I can see how it can be too many. There has been a lot in the past year but also gives casual Freddy fans a chance at a lot of different ones to choose and grab but also can be a pain for Freddy completest to get them all. The worst is the mystery boxes they have the Freddy exclusives in.

I feel that ever since Funko went public, they've been flooding the market with everything. Freddys are no exception. Personally I think this is a mistake because Funko's products are losing their exclusivity and value.

Exactly. The more Freddys of various fandoms then it becomes more and more true there's something for everyone when collecting Funko.

I appreciated having to jump through some hoops to get Freddy Funko pops but I see why some who were around a decade or more ago would say they want to see more of him...that being said considering where sales are and the matter of $31 million in product that had to be destroyed etc over producing ANYTHING is not something Funko should be doing at this point. More variety could be cool if the numbers were smaller but I dislike seeing LE 5000 or LE 10000 on a Freddy Pop...seems less special

Aren't they overdoing it for everything? Lol...

But I would like to shed more positive light on the Freddy. I've think the brand icon has gotten more popular as a result. I remember a time when people rarely wanted the Freddy but look at him now! He's definitely gotten a larger fan base. Now that has been accomplished, they can probably tone down a bit haha

I really like the Freddy pops and sodas! I think they can do more variants (to cover more fandoms) but also keep the piece count at a reasonable amount.

lol first of all we dont hate you thinking Mr. Yac. We really do appreciate you and the always good interaction. But I do agree with you here I do think they are overdoing the Freddy releases. I know the Fundays and Fright Night Freddy's will always be the highly sought after pieces, but aside from those the pieces being released as con exclusives or store exclusives are starting to be a too much. I am now at that point, instead of looking at picking each one up I am now being more selective.

I share this concern every year. Whether it's Wolverine or Spider-Man or Optimus Prime or whoever it happens every time. lol That being said, I've commented multiple times this year about the seemingly overabundant Freddys but it's been with excitement because the majority of them were great. This is certainly the most I've ever gotten in one year and ideally my fingers are still tightly crossed to get a couple more before it's over.

I dont think Funko is "overdoing" it, but I personally prefer the Freddies attached to a specific property and not really the generic ones. That being said I do own some of the more generic ones. That being said, no, I do not think they are overdoing it. :D

That's my preference, too. Freddy in cosplay reminds me of Halloween costumes or playing dress-up as a kid, whether they were store-bought or handmade costumes. The various Freddys over the years help further reiterate that everyone is a fan of something, whether it's specific IP's, different hobbies/sports we've seen Freddy doing like skiing, skating, hiking, surfing, etc., or even fans of Halloween or Christmas.

I actually don’t mind it since I’m not a completionist and only collect the particular ones that I like! I do agree they have cranked up the number of Freddy’s that release in a year though
