I'm not sure if these could ever happen. Schools and the NCAA would have to have rights signed over to Funko. That might be difficulty to obtain.

I’m sure that’s true! The NCAA isn’t easy to work with for rights and such I’ve heard!

Im wondering how Funko would go through obtaining the license to make these. Would they go through the school or NCAA? They would definitely have to have the NCAA logo on them.

That company made something for almost every team. I was able to score a mascot and a few players about 4 or 5 years ago for the Clemson Tigers.
I would still love POP mascots though

I was just reading this post I had found on the forums about previous catalogs. There is a Brutus Buckeye item in the lower left corner of the 2008 catalog.

Does anyone know the story behind this ? First time I have seen it. Gives me hope.....

I’ve seen bobble heads, statues, and even Pillow Pets of mascots. If it’s any way possible, I hope Funko is looking into it.

The Funko fan base has grown so much in the last two years I think if they rereleased them they would fly off shelves. Especially if they sold at the arenas and or stadiums.

NCAA mascots would definitely fly off the shelves and get those who are just fans of the school who aren't normally pop fans to get into it.

YES! These would be awesome!!! I can't imagine licensing can be that hard to get I've got a Missouri Tiger rubber ducky, nutcracker, shower curtain, snuggie and grill accessories among other things! Truman the Tiger in Football/Basketball jersey or flocked would be super cool!

I saw that a while back and did some investigating of my own. Apparently it's a Wobbler that never made it into production. I've seen a couple in private collections. God I want it. lol

That's exactly what I'm thinking. They probably don't do a deal unless it benefits them much more greatly than Funko.

I was wondering about this topic so I went searching before posting and I guess I'm not alone! I imagine it would be a logistical nightmare. I'm not sure who owns the rights to all the mascots- if it's just the universities or if the NCAA has a share. And then there's the private vs public aspect. Does the state of Michigan have a stake in the wolverine mascot? Who knows.

But I'm just being selfish here. I went to Duke and the blue devil would be awesome as a pop. And I would love to get my dad a Fighting Irish leprechaun!
