Thanks everyone! I really wasn't expecting to see them since the stock on brickseek changed from 12/10 to 9/7 overnight. I thought it was weird because the man who was there before me said he had to ask for them to bring them from out back.

Well the Funko Gods did well to me today! Little story I have...

So I decided to drive up to Target after work today again to give it another chance. As I was walking into the new Funko section, I saw an employee just finish opening boxes for a gentleman and putting the POP!s on display. I could already see the man had 2 POP!s in his hand and immediately thought to myself am I really going to watch myself miss out on these.

I walked over next to the man while the employee was walking away and started searching. I saw right away the exclusive Joker sitting in front and grabbed him. I moved some of the POP!s around blocking others and there he was hiding behind and under 2 POP!s, the Batman! I grabbed him and then looked at the gentleman next to me with a kind of an confusing smile. He chuckled and started saying to me "nice we both got one I just made them go out back and unbox these guys and they only got 2 in". Come to find out he grabbed the Batman and a Dementor POP!

We talked a bit more and he told me he was shopping for a buddy of his since they don't have Target's in his state and how pumped he was to find it. He also was telling me that the employee that was unboxing them told him how he was coming back after he got off his shift to buy the exclusives and that he tried to hide the Batman where I found it behind and under a few POP!s

Long story short, that guy was the man for not buying both Batman and the Joker. And sucks for that employee

So you're the one that bought the Batman I hid for after my shift!!!

Finally found Batman today. I had to get them to pull the box from the back. They only got 3 in so my brother and I each got one and left the third. They also only got one exclusive Joker which I thought was strange.

Bad news to the people hoping to order these from PC. Saw a Facebook message conversation from someone on Instagram between the user and PC that they won't be getting these in!

So I called all 10 or so targets in my area, and checked a few that had high brickseek numbers. Many stores got 2 cases with no exclusives. There were 2 stores left that got a shipment in today, so I drove the 25 minutes to check them out first thing this morning (BTW props to min-Mega for waking me up at 7 AM today ) I was the first person in the store and scored batman and joker! I was stoked, so I decided to try the other store not too far away while I was close. Here's where the story gets interesting...
Walked in the other store around 8:10 AM went to electronics and there was an employee holding and staring at the joker exclusive. I walked up and stated "perfect timing! That's just what I'm looking for!" The guy looks at me, looks back at the pop says "hold on" picks up his phone (which he wasn't on when I walked up and was hanging on his belt) and says "which ones are you looking for? Ok, Ok I'll hold them, just picked them up at electronics desk." I ask what's going on and he says he's holding them for someone. I grab the other batman and walk away to check the pop display and another guy walks up and starts questioning the employee on how he is holding the pops when no other stores will hold them for him. I walk back over to see what going on, employee takes the 2 pops and walks away. Other guy says, "he's supposed to call some other stores for me (which I had already done yesterday and no other stores have them), but he just walked away". I was like "weird".
Did some other shopping and then went up front to ask the manager what their policy is on holding stuff. She asked what's going on so I explain it to her and we walk back to electronics where the guy is still arguing with the employee. Manager says..."well I don't know how they do things here (meaning electronics), but we will hold items depending on what it is". I'm thinking "huh, self...doesn't the manager run the entire store?" Both employees have a private conversation and decide they won't sell the items (me and the other guy decided we'd each take one if they'd sell 'em).

I told the manager that there has to be some semblance and continuity on how they sell HTF exclusives like this. I could easily see this same situation going bad quickly. Yes, I wasn't too upset because I already scored them...but still this is getting crazy! The other guy was pretty miffed.

Was the employee holding these for himself or a friend? Should a customer in the store take priority over someone calling all the stores for them to hold the pops? The world may never know...

This was the reason why I was so mad and why I was "name-calling" ppl. Which I know was wrong, but I was pretty mad and upset. When I found both of them on the floor. Which they weren't supposed to anyways... They employee grabbed from me and said "sweet". My brother followed him from a distance. And heard the employee tell another employee. "I didn't even know these were here, but I'm gonna hide them here and buy them can't keep an eye on them for a couple days?" And the other employee (whom was working by the returns or exchanges register) said "yes I will just put them inside". Some little room they have in there. I called that store and they said they couldn't put on hold anything that was exclusive. Like the pops obviously. So, u can't put anything on hold... That's fine. But that's actually exactly what the employee did... And they lied to me on my face. And I explained the whole story. N the manager just asked me who that guy is. I said I'll b back in a few days and tell him who the guy was. No name calling or anything. I guess it just wasn't fair at all. That's all...

Sweet I didn't know it was your birthday. Glad I could make it better. Especially seeing now that popculta will not be getting any so I wonder how limited they will be.

I don't see anything wrong with an employee setting aside one of each Pop for themselves. Multiples to flip? No, that would be unfair. But I'm a big believer in "first come, first served" and no one gets there earlier than the employees- . I dunno, maybe I've just worked too many retail jobs not to feel sorry for all those people, but I feel like it should be a perk to get first dibs on something you want for yourself as long as you aren't reselling them.

Unless it is something big like the Force Friday release of Star Wars TFA stuff last year or Black Friday, Target really doesn't send out communication on what we should and shouldn't hold for every release of limited edition merchandise so the policy varies from store to store when it comes to putting stuff on hold. I basically run the E&E dept in my store so we deal with exclusive releases all the time and often determine whether we're gonna put a release on hold or not if I think its gonna be in demand. My store LODs (managers) are really cool and just leave alot of it up to me. Realistically though, the manager on duty is usually being pulled every which way with guest issues, employee questions, scheduling issues, etc. so they typically don't know much about the current hot toy someone is asking for.

I knew these were gonna be ridiculous because of the fandom hype for Suicide Squad so I definitely wouldn't have put any on hold and made it a first come, first serve deal in my store. Maybe the employee who was opening hadn't heard about the craziness for these so put them on hold not knowing better. Alot of team members are never in the loop about this kind of stuff so that would be the most likely situation. or the employee could be a no good flipping turd.

Will probably be the same for a lot of people who couldn't find him at Target. I've checked all of the stores near me just in case they had them so I could buy and give to funatics. This pop doesn't interest me. I really wanted the Joker exclusive, but he seemed even rarer.

I don't see anything wrong with an employee setting aside one of each Pop for themselves. Multiples to flip? No, that would be unfair. But I'm a big believer in "first come, first served" and no one gets there earlier than the employees- . I dunno, maybe I've just worked too many retail jobs not to feel sorry for all those people, but I feel like it should be a perk to get first dibs on something you want for yourself as long as you aren't reselling them.

I try and stay in line with our employee policies which states that merchandise must be out on the floor for guests to purchase for a period of time before we can buy it and we must be on a break, lunch, or off the clock. We actually received so many calls for these that my boss wouldn't let us buy them even if we were off which is a first in the 10 years I've been there.

Now, there are other ways around this including having a friend/relative come in to buy something for you if you work at opening and they'll sell out fast, or have a fellow coworker with a different schedule pick it up on their break or whatnot before you get a chance to. The only real advantage we have if you want to follow the rules is being able to check what day something is coming in on the overnight trucks.

Looked like my Target got more common SS but didn't see any Batman or Joker exclusives. If I get a gut feeling, I'll go back and check again. Especially now that we know PC is a no go.

Based on Target's press release, I wouldn't expect Bats to get rereleased like all of Targets past exclusives have. They went out of their way to say something like "extremely limited release".

Every store manager I've talked to (4 so far) said they will not be getting a restock of the batman on the other SS pops (joker will be plentiful)

Oh, wow- that is pretty crazy.

I actually worked at Target for 3 years back in the 90s when I was I high school (1 year of hardlines/2 years in electronics) and the only times we weren't allowed to buy something was for EXTREMELY hot toys- basically the Tickle Me Elmos and Furbys when both of those first came out.

The nearest Target is almost an hour and a half away, but I decided to make the trek today to see if they had these. It was a no go. I also checked 2 other Target stores, with no luck. I'm guessing I'll be missing out on this one, because I can't keep making the 3 hour round trip just on the hope that they'll have it. And no one I talked to at any of the stores was helpful at all.

I worked a lot of minimum wage jobs including working in a department store until I graduated and started in my career and man, there are so few perks to those jobs. It does seem unfair that the one time you might actually have an advantage in life you get told by the store that you can't use it, LOL!

My attitude about this stuff is either make more of them or charge more for them. It's silly that someone can buy a Pop for 10 bucks at the store and turn right around and sell it for 4 times that amount on eBay. Who wins in that scenario? Not the retailer, not the retailer's employees, not the collector, not the manufacturer. Only the flipper wins.
