Disney Store Logo Re-Release
Other than making money, does anyone know why Funko chose to rerelease Oogie Boogie and Wall-E with the Disney Store logo on the front, but the bottom is brand new?
I’ve collected all the regular ones from Series 1-5 and was just starting to collect the first edition Disney Store logos. The reason why the Disney Store logos are very popular amongst Disney collectors is because it’s the first edition, which is similar to why Star Wars collectors want the first edition blue boxes with the enlarged font on front.

It's always a tough balancing act when dealing with collectables and collectors... But in the end, most companies are for profit so I get it.

True true. I wish they would’ve just stuck to the third edition packaging rather than making a fourth edition one.

I don’t remember exactly, but I think Disney store had exclusive rights for X amount of time, so after that period was up other stores could sell without the Disney Store logo on the box.

Don’t get me wrong, I got excited when I found it, but my excitement went away when I saw it was the rerelease
My friend found Oogie at Funko Hollywood and I found Wall-E at Frank and Son’s in City of Industry

That makes sense. I’ve seen some Disney Store logos sold with the Hot Topic price sticker on the bottom. It’s just odd that Funko chose to use the same Disney Store logo on the fourth edition.

I’m not sure why the re-release happened, but I think for all those who missed out on them the first time, they’re okay with the re-release happening.

That’s true, but the packaging stayed the same.

They adjusted the production stamp though!
