May be discontinued at Target

Postby Pender » Sat Jan 14, 2012 1:52 pm

Hey guys,
I work as a manager for toys at Target.
It's awesome being able to see what we get in before we open.
I do the in-stocks on them and recently found they were discontinued:(
We will no longer get any more Pops as of right now.
The ones we carry were Marvel, DC, and Star Wars.
All discontinued!
May be getting ready to bring in another series.
But I cant imagine Disney in action figures.
I can only really speak for the stores in my area ( Northern California )
But after reading how people are having trouble finding them at Target, it may be safe to say if you haven't seen anything new at your Target for ahwile that they may be discontinued there too.
Feel free to ask a team member to scan them to see if they are still active.
Just thought I'd share this with you guys.
Hopefully we get some in, SOON!

I will defentely keep you posted if anything changes:)

In some better news B & N and Disney is where it's at. Here's my pick up yesterday.

Here's what my whole collection looks. Started in December, it's about time for some rearranging into series.

There has never been one Chase piece at my store
There's 6 in a case, and I've never seen Chase, Batgirl, Penguin, Red Skull, or The Thing.

I work over night flow team at my Target and when you open a case you get ZERO chase. I have yet to see any chase in cases.

But, we still carry POP, Marvel Star Wars and DC.

Do you remember when you got your last case? We still have some left overs and the label for them but ours went discontinued about a week ago. A little after the toys reset.

Target never gets shipped chase pieces. The Target pieces are pre-sorted into 6 piece boxes, with no chase pieces. I believe that the discontinue at target has something to do with the bigger toy companies throwing a fit over Funko taking away some of their shelf space.

Well, This would not be the first time that I was wrong. When I was shipping stuff out for Funko all of the stuff I sent to target was in either 6 or 8 piece pre-sorted boxes.

They do come 8 per case. We just did our reset so these might be left overs from the DC. If they end up being clearance I will be all over them.

I buy less and less from Target as each year passes. I am no longer in their "target age group" so my purchases really do not really register with them. I guess everyone my age an older will shop somewhere else besides Target.

i don't quite understand it as well...
i'm thinking that POPs are aimed more towards the collectors and no so much children.
i can live with TRUS not selling them but Target :disgust:

My store is out of DC and Marvel but there are grey dots on the price labels which means they have put in a request for more from the DC.

If youve boughten any from Target you'll see they are hanging by a plastic hook. I just took the plastic hooks from my store and put the adhesive on the inside of the inside of the box. Not to ruin the box if peeled off and used tacks to pin them. No need for shelves and seeming less never ending space. Even though they're getting a little high on the wall, harder and harder to put up.

I won't shop there anymore (Toys R Us) they have proven to be less than helpful when I had problems there. So I'm not giving them any more of my money.

Thank you,
Time to start trying to get some of the harder pieces. May have to start ordering some or drive a little farther. All my stores have been out for close to two weeks.

And as for the plastic hooks I haven't seen any really, but I haven't been looking. Possibly a hobby store or hardware store? I'll keep my eyes pelled and let you know.

My Target has all Pop! on Clearance for 4.50. Good sale, but unless they are clearing space for new Pop, it doesn't look good. :(
