See, since I have 4 kids and collect toys I learned a long time to go to collect 'decoy' toy lines. I have a collection of Marvel Squinkies and Star Wars Pods just to keep my kids from messing with my Pops and Minimates. I bought a set of the Cars toys that Disney sells that don't even have working wheels so that they wouldn't touch my collection of the higher end metal versions. I've even got all of the Green Lantern movie figures so my kids don't play with my Marvel Universe stuff. Seriously, I just assume that's why toys like Power Rangers and Ben 10 are sold; they're not intended to be cool toys, they're intended to be used to deflect interest from daddy's stuff.

Re: HELLO KITTY POP!
with the squinkies they now have dispensers. for marvel its a spiderman head, for cars its a car globe, for disney its a carridge and they come with coins and they work like a cheap gumball machine. i have all3 plus a hot wheels dispenser as well. that way i give them coins and they get to use them on the squinkies. my nephew is 3 and he is very good he always asks to go downstairs were my collection is and somehow he knows whats statues and whats action figures and he only touches the figures. so it works well
