Any thoughts on the Mini Pops

Postby gbjgonzo » Thu Mar 08, 2012 10:01 pm

I've seen a couple pictures on the mini POPs but I am not sure if I'd buy some (unless they were batman). Im curious to see how much they'll cost.

Any thoughts, rants, or raves?

My thought honestly is not necessary. What's next mini big pops? 7.5" instead of 9"?

2 sizes are enough IMO

If they could make the size work for scale, like the 7 dwarfs, I would buy those. I am not too interested in smaller versions of characters we already have.

I am passing on these, not really needed. And even though they are toys, they look a little to much like toys from a $.25 machine, I will still with my regular and 9" pop :)

i'm sticking with one size. i look at pops more as art than toys, and don't really see the point to doubling up on characters just because it's bigger or smaller. the design's the same. so... meh.

Good point, hopefully they do sell for a quarter, then maybe then it might be worth it

I didn't know there were Mini Pops coming out. Where can I see some pictures?

Thanks a lot, Mike.

I think it would all depend on the price, because they could be quite profittable if they pick the right characters. Maybe a Lisa & Bart set? Or some kind of "Hero & Villain" DC Sets, like what Hasbro did with Mini Mighty Muggs.

I think they are cute and plan on buying them... Curious what they will look like from concept to actual product... I like the idea of having all the seven drawfs in one set... Or all of the Winnie the Pooh characters ,well the main ones... Or even the Disney fab six Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy and Pluto...

I would possibly buy these if they do waht marvel did with their tiny figures in the disney store, where they group all of them tother and sell like 8-10 for $20.

I saw the Star Wars mini at B&N last week. I didn't buy it. I may end up buying a Malificent/Evil Queen mini. May keep it at work for the heck of it. I don't see myself getting a whole collection of them though.

If they have different character sets which make sense, I'd be interested. They would need to be different characters from the 3.75" set, and need to be packaged in a way which matches the aesthetic sense of the regular sized POP!.

The 7 dwarves was an excellent suggestion; I would also suggest DuckTales (Scrooge, Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby) - but full size LaunchPad McQuack and Gizmoduck would be preferred.

One last thing - pricing. It would be difficult to justify paying anymore than $6-8 per mini-figure, based on the going rate of regular POP!
