Has anyone dealt with Robobopinop before?

Postby Shavedcrx » Thu May 17, 2012 3:21 pm

He had some items for sale and I bought one off of him and haven't heard anything since. I sent him an email and pm with no response... Just curious if anyone knows him or has had a previous experience like this so I can just dispute the PayPal.

how long has it been. I tend to try to be a little patient as you never know what may have come up in people's lives. If it's been less than a week or 10 days i might wait until that point. and i think it's important to keep communication open. I would email or PM again after a few days.

Probably just some stuff came up for them. I'm sure I'll get it based on their previous record.

So i just found out someone purchased the same item from robin a week before me and hasn't heard anything either. Normally I'd say sometimes people have more than one item but it was original Thor for $16.... So now are you actually able to dispute a PayPal transaction that was done as a gift? I'm just going to dispute it and the item shows up or they contact me I wll cancel the dispute.

I suggest we make a sticky and add names of people whom didn't come through with their trade/item to warn other Funatics and possibly bann them. But of course this would be after every attempt to make thing right. IMO

That would be great to have a list of transaction that went smoothly and ones that didn't go so well to warn people.

Not sure having a "list of transactions" for each member would be helpful. Especially in this case, you see that everyone who has reported buying/selling/trading with this member has a positive experience. This seems to be an isolated incident, maybe there was a missed communication somewhere between seller and buyer.

You should always be cautious when dealing with other people you don't know. But membership on this board already has a built-in system to help people decide if they should be able to trust the person they're dealing with. One, as is mentioned here, is word of mouth. If you have a negative experience with someone, others on the board will find out about it. Members would be wise to remember that having and keeping a good reputation is important to conducting business on the board. For me also, it stands to reason that the more active someone is with posting, trading, etc., the more likely it is that you should be able to depend on them to come through on their side of a sale or trade.

Not even that. Just a trader rating or feedback system similar to eBay would be helpful.

I have not been online in over a week because the power supply in my computer died and i finally got it back from being fixed...I have bought and sold a ton on here with no problems and alot of people can vouch for me....I always come through. I had no way to get the mailing addresses to mail the 2 figures out that i need to mail....I am mailing both of them out on monday...I already sent both people a pm letting them know what happened but it was out of my control...i would never not follow through on a transaction...especially a 10 dollar one....life sucks sometimes but i do the best i can =)

I also purchased a Thor and I am so glad that it was just a computer issue. Life happens-no need to apologize (just so happy to be getting Thor). And now I know where to go if I need another one! lol

Thanks Robobopinop- glad to see you are still around!
