Did anyone else go through hell buy comic con tix?

That was one of the most anxiety driven situations I have ever been in!

Got on at 8am on the dot and the page wouldn't load. Finally got on 5 minutes later with a waited slot of 17000 ahead of me! 4 day passes sold out half an hour in. Finally got through and was able to buy thur, fri and sunday and then a minute later was only able to buy thur and sunday for my friend =(. And then they closed it (sold out) by 9am. What a cluster..

I COULD try to buy the remaining days when it opens to the masses but if this was a mess I can't see me getting it then either.

I least I got in.

I really didn't thinking was this crazy to just get tickets to the con. I hope its not this crazy when they go on sale for the public. Do I need anything before I try to buy my tickets? I saw member id but is that for prebuy previous visitors only?

Vinny your gonna need a member ID for the mass sale too, this believe or not was the smoothest I have seen the site run, last year it crashed twice before they figured it out. Hopefully when they go on sale again it will be just as smooth.

Eddie silly question I was buying my nycc tickets this week will this get me my member ID or is sdcc totally different? If so how do I get one?

I feel like I'm signing up to college, just sell me my over priced tickets and take my money already! Lol

Totally different, at least I think so, think they are ran by different organizations.

It's easy, just go to the SDCC website and should be a link on the main page saying "get member ID"

I will lend my refresh button for those who are still trying when they go on sale. I think 5 badges is the max for the actual sale.

I am sure they will open it up again, the next sale might not be till end of the year, maye sooner since it seems they figured out how to keep the site from blowing up.

I read in Feb. luckily I had 2 other people all trying and one got in right away,as I had trouble,so it's the best plan to have a couple of people all trying and someone will be in sooner.

I got mine cause of a friend somehow was #2500 something in line.Another friend was 7500 something and he got one 4day pass and his brother a single day pass for everyday.

My buddy got in at 1700. I ended up in line at 9700. The 4 day passes were available while I checked out but not when I was buying my GFs badge. This was better than last year and 10 times better than the ear prior which I couldn't Even get a badge

I'm sure it will be more crazy as there will be more people trying to buy tickets. You'll have the people that didn't get all the passes they wanted that attended last year AND the people that didn't attend.

I was only able to get Sunday badge because Friday and Saturday were sold out. I really wanted Friday or Saturday...I guess Sunday will have to do AGAIN. I'm gonna try to get Friday or Saturday badge when it opens up to the public.

I really want to go to SDCC next year...but I am going to Fundays whether or not I can get tickets to SDCC. That being said, I will most likely end upp paying an arm and a leg on the secondary market to get SDCC tickets just like I did for Blizzcon. *sighs* But dang it I am going to be there and can not wait to meet you all in person!

Blizzcon, never been but have been a blizzard fan since D1. D3 is sucking my free time away everyday lol

Hopefully I can get tickets when the go on sale to the public, if not I'm still going to fundays as well, but it would be a shame not to experience sdcc while out there. Keeping hopes alive, we have plenty of time

Was able to grab passes for Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Waited like half an hour and experience a few instances where the page wouldn't load. =\

Dang, I didn't even manage to get any tickets..... I got cut off when my number was about 8000 (partly because I didn't have computer access right on the dot at 8... Shame)

I was really disappointed this year that they didn't have on-site pre registration....... That's what I did the year before, and it was WAAAY easier (although I had to camp outside the Hyatt hotel at two in the morning, but it was a worthwhile experience xD)..... Hopefully, by some miracle I can manage to get some tickets when they go in sale to the general public :/

After this years con I have come to the conclusion that I will only go to fundays. I'll do the pre buy and buy everything else on eBay . Way cheaper and less chaos!

Yes, when Brian posts the information (next spring) then you pay via PayPal or over the phone, and you are all set. The you show up at the event at the correct time and they check your name on the list.

Mike: I am pretty much with you... although this year I managed to score a Thursday pass and a Sunday pass for only $66 total. Saved about $110 and tons of aggravation in the exhibit hall. What this means is that I will have more time to explore SoCal on the days we dont have to go to the con...
