SDCC 2010 Clamshell vs. box?

SDCC 2010 Clamshell vs. box?

I was curious to find out why the SDCC 2010 had POP exclusives that came in both a box and also the clamshell plastic case. I was looking into purchasing one but I wasn't sure if there was a difference other than the container.

Any thoughts?

you can remove it from the box without damage but the clam shell is sealed and must be cut open in you want to take it out of the package. Both cost about the same

Also shipping is easier and cheaper via the box packaging vs the clamshell.
