Kingdom Hearts

I am not sure if this topic has already come up or not.
I know many people (like myself) loved the Kingdom Hearts games. It would be awesome to see some of the characters in POP! or mystery mini form! Disney owns the rights to most of the characters from the games (minus the FF characters). Since Funko has the Disney license, this should be an easy rollout right? A few of the characters already have POP! figures, but the Kingdom Heart versions would be spectacular! Not to mention that Sora alone would have so many exclusive options from different key blades to different costumes. Sora, Donald, and Goofy changed costumes in differnt levels (underwater, Halloween Town, the pirates level, the Tron level, the Lion King level) and Mickey had multiple costumes as well. This could make for a long running line.
What do you guys think.

That's actually a very good point to make. One of the greatest things about KH was the different outfits and variations to Sora's character that he goes through.

Easy, except your dealing with Disney. I'm pretty sure that funko only has license to make the characters that are currently out, in the form(s) that they have been released. If they want something new, they need to apply/fight for the ability to make those new characters/variants. I highly doubt disney would ever give anyone the ability to "make any characters you want" type of agreement.
Given the fact that funko is currently someone that is working with disney it made make it an easier time. Still not easy. Just look at how hard Brian had to fight to get a re-release of Wreck-it-Ralph. A piece disney already agreed to.
and unfortunately, funko needs disney far more than disney would need funko. So that puts brian in a tough situation.
Here's to hoping though. I certainly would love KH pieces. So many variants are possible, it would be awesome.

Maybe they could run them in limited/seasonal waves. Have the Halloween Town costume wave run in limited release or for a limit time through Gemini or some other online dealer. Same with a Tron level wave and so on. Three - Four figures per themed wave.

No, Disney owns them. They use them in the parades at Disney from time to time. All of the new characters from Kingdom Hearts are owned by Disney. The FF characters are owned by Square. Even if the name changed for the game, they are still owned by Square.

I'm with all of you. This is one of my top series for a Pop wishlist. Kingdom Hearts and Full Metal Alchemist are probably my top two, but like many of you have said, here's to hoping.

You know the more I think about it, the real challenge is with using the name itself, "kingdom Hearts". We have already established that Disney owns about 89% of the characters and Square Enix own the rest. But the name is shared by both parties. So to do a Kingdom Hearts line would require consent from both sides. And if that were the case, and it were approved, then Funko could work in a deal for all of the characters from both parties. Then we could also see a Final Fantasy line and more Square properties down the road.

Funko, let me know if you need a pitch-man...I've got your back!

I also would like some Kingdom Hearts POP. Even Kairi in her Keyblade Pink outfit that she had in KH2. To me that was my favorite look from Kairi from the game. She was my favorite character from the game along with Demx or how ever you spell his name you know the one with the water getair from the O13.

this is the reason I think it might never happen, because both parties hold ownership and Square Enix makes it's own toys/action figures, so maybe they might not want Funko to do it? I also think that's why Nintendo characters haven't been made yet. hmmmm.....

So far the ones I've seen listed are Mickey, Donald and Goofy... but I'm sure Sora can't be too far behind... might be a Square Enix licensing issue...

Oh. My. Gosh. If Funko ever releases a Kingdom Hearts Pop line, I know I'd be broke even longer because I'd buy the whole set, including exclusives, on day one. My probable most fave Kingdom Hearts Pops would be Kairi, Namine, and Aqua.

I saw photos yesterday, not sure where they came from tbh, but it showed Donald, Goofy, and Mickey w/keyblade. They look great! No Sora though which is odd unless he just wasn't pictured.

I'm pretty sure eventually we will get all the licenses and characters we all want. No need to push everything out at once. The FF line will get done eventually and will still be popular and sought out. I am very happy to see the KH line get made and looking forward to seeing the rest when the time comes.

Like GF said, the truth is that most of us can't really handle them picking up the current pace and variety of production right now anyway. If any out there are like me, these last two major East and West Coast Cons almost killed me and my pocket book (my girlfriend still gives me "that look" any time anything new comes out from Funko). If the current pace and variety of production picks up any more than current then I'd have to say I would be at risk for going into Mad-Consumer Shock Overload--that dreaded condition that produces symptoms which strangely resemble Mad Cow Disease--confusion, impaired judgment, difficulty speaking and controlling ones actions, changes in one's level of consciousness--possibly progressing into a coma from nervous breakdown and sensory overload. Most don't realize it, but Funko is actually protecting us from ourselves. They know that in spite of all our desires too much too soon would ignite a public health and financial crisis. So they're carefully spacing out new lines and introductions, because they know we wouldn't be able to control ourselves. They would have a difficult time trying to explain their way out of such recklessness

I have to agree with your statement....too much too soon. I am getting to the point where I need to take a good look at my collections and decide what must stay and what may need to go. For no other reason than just to make room for what I know I want that is coming out later.
