Need some advice on my Loki situation

Postby Rexus » Wed Jun 05, 2013 11:36 am

So I need a little advice on what to do with my Loki. I'm really happy that I got him, but there's just one flaw I cannot live with. Next to his eye it looks like someone scraped a reasonable chunk off. The picture I took isn't too good, but you can tell where it is.
I have emailed Popcultcha and they have offered me a replacement if they get a new shipment or $10 store credit which is much less than what I paid for him.
He has some other flaws, but this is the one that bothers me the most.

Any ideas? Cause I have no clue what to do.

Ouch! Looks like Thor got him good!

I know people use paint, just not sure what kind.

If you're crafty at all a very small piece of clay and some paint will smooth that right out.

Hmm that sounds pretty good. I mean if I don't have to see it I think I'd be okay.
Does anyone know what paint color would work best?

Ask for store credit. Try fleshtone from Michaels.

Take the store credit and hopefully they get more.

I know it sucks, but you got a Loki which is most important. You can pose him so you can see the flaw, out of sight out of mind?

Or, put this one on eBay, show people the flaw. See what you can get for him and maybe put that toward a mint Loki.

if you use paint from michaels, be sure to get a gloss and not matte. the fleshstone they carry is not an exact match to the flesh color that funko uses, you may have to add a little brown/orange to it.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try the fleshtone and see if that works.
Fingers crossed

just take your mind off the damge/imperfections and try to -not- look for them

Give it a day or two and it wont bother you nearly as much at all.

I wish it didn't but I handle my pops a lot and I am just constantly looking at it. Even after two weeks, but oh well. I'll try patching him up and hopefully that works.
Thanks for the advice everyone and Robert even though I have no idea what the "Nuke it" is a reference to. Woops

all i can suggest in the meanwhile is boiling it to soften the vinyl and just kind of running your finger along it to lessen the sharp gouge when the vinyl dries out

it works for scuffs and scratches i believe.
