Overly Critical?

Postby Nenja » Thu Jan 15, 2015 2:10 am

My wife and I were really excited to receive the Amazon and ToyWiz exclusives (metallic) My Little Pony Pop!s, until we opened their packages and saw the various states they were in. Are our expectations too high, or do you think these should be returned?

Nope... I'd ask for replacement ones ...I wouldn't say you are being unreasonable at all

Yeah, those are bad. With any mass produced items, there will be slight paint variations but everything you pointed out, to me, look like errors and bad quality control.

You definitely need to return those and ask Amazon/ToyWiz to give you brand New ones, no collector wants Pops that are damaged that badly. It sounds like they need a better QA team to check their products out before shipping them.

Usually when I see a post here or on Facebook by someone asking if they are being unreasonable about this type of thing my answer is almost always yes. Not in this case. I don't think you are being nitpicky. I can deal with some minor paint issues, it happens but the gouges on the nose alone would probably make me unhappy enough to request a replacement.

Have to agree with everyone, I would return those without hesitation. And in the end, unreasonable to others or not, it's your hard-earned money; not happy with a product--shouldn't feel guilty about returning it (unless of course all the blemishes/irregularities/etc are pointed out in words or pictures).

That set is really bad, my wife returned her original set as well. I would ask for a replacement.

Thanks for the responses, all. We've come to accept non-mint box condition issues, and are now largely OOB collectors since the only way we can get Pop!s here is through online orders. For that reason, it makes it all the more frustrating to get a full lot like this with issues on all figures.

I presume paint cracking is not a common flaw for metallic figures. For anyone else with these, have you seen similar issues?

We have the full set of metallic ponies. They have the standard minor paint flaws as most Pops do, but NOTHING like yours. I would definitely be getting replacements if I were you.

Get replacements! I don't say that often but these are pretty bad and I don't think I've seen cracked metallic paint before!

Ask for replacements. Amazon is really reasonable.
