Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man
Hello everyone! Now that Spider-Man's been revealed and we all know what he looks like. Do you think there will be a pop of him being released soon?

Re: Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man
I hope so! I'd love to be able to get an updated Spider-Man Pop! since I'm not really willing to pay $40-$60 for the TASM ones. I really want one with him holding Cap's shield, plus I do like the new look for the costume. I wonder if he'll get a pop in the CW line or if we'll have to wait for his Sony movie instead.

Not based on the Macaroni "hint"?
Would love if spidey is in next box, we got a few IM and Caps in this line, spidey would be awesome.

I would be surprised if we DIDN'T get a new Spidey for Civil War. Since we already got a Spidey in MCC, I wouldn't mind if some how it wasn't in MCC.

Re: Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man
Are we sure the red and black suit spidey is for civil war? Or is it just another spidey? Either way I love him (don't care it's a repaint). If they did a civil war spidey with the shield, then my head would explode . Given the different cap america and iron man variations for civil war, I don't think it's unrealistic to think there might be another civil war spidey coming even if the black and red suit is from the civil war series.

Pretty sure it's just a repaint, that spidey isn't CW related.
I love him too

Re: Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man
I am still horribly confused at what people are looking at that they see either Superior Spider-Man or MCU Civil War Spider-Man. The red and black repaint is missing crucial elements that differentiate those costumes. And for the hardcore comic book nerd Spider-Man fans, it should be obvious and uncontroversial what that repaint is.

Re: Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man
yeah pretty sure thats just a repainted one since the spiderman in the trailer has the traditional red/blue suit but with extra black added onto it. One being released with the Captain America shield in the 'superhero landing' pose would be pretty awesome. If it came in the MCC box, Id definitely re-subscribe for it!

Yea, every time I find that Spider-Man pop somewhere, it's always very dirty looking. It appears to be an attempt to get the black line webbing on the costume that didn't work well.

Re: Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man
My money is on MCC Spidey exclusive with an additional Spidey exclusive @ Walgreens, given that Walgreens gets all the Spidey exclusives. Also remember there is still at least one character yet to be revealed(Zemo), who could be really cool if done right and I truly believe that a couple more characters will have cameos in the movie, as well. Characters that rhyme with Slaptin Harvel and Rockter Drange & Slider-Somen.

I mean, but.....it IS wrong- .
And I don't think anyone is arguing, just talking about something new that we don't have all the info to yet, so there are different ideas about what it might be. Nothing wrong with that.
Back on the topic, though- this seems like it's pretty obviously 1st Appearance Spidey. I don't even slightly understand how anyone could think this is Superior Spider-man. That outfit is completely different looking than this.

No one is arguing. People are just showing their ignorance of the history of Spider-Man.
The point is that if it's *meant* to be Superior Spider-Man, the lenses are wrong, the front spider emblem is wrong, the back spider emblem is wrong, and it misses the opportunity to display his finger and toe claws.
Every picture shows a simple black and red repaint. People who say it is Superior Spider-Man say that because of the color scheme, seemingly oblivious to the fact that SSM's color scheme is a reference to the idea that Spider-Man's costume in the first few issues was intended by Steve Ditko to be red and black, with the blue as highlights (see Superman's hair). A few artists have returned to the red and black color scheme (off the top of my head, Erik Larsen in the late 80s and John Romita Jr during the J. Michael Straczynski run, plus Chris Giarrusso insists on coloring Spider-Man red and black for his Mini-Marvels comics).
There's absolutely nothing Superior Spider-Man about that Pop except that it is black.
ETA: The "belt" section is also wrong for SSM.

My point that I stated on some other thread is that it isn't below Funko to make a pop of a certain character that is missing details or is partially wrong. For example, Spider-Man 2099 is missing the spikes on his forearms, as well as his web cape. Foolkiller, Solo, and Terror are all just Deadpool repaints, and lack their unique weapons.
The Hot Topic pop isn't too far off from this:
Or this:
And it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up labled as "Superior Spider-Man." I would like a pop of SSM that looks like this, too --
--but for now, the Hot Topic one is all we've got.

Re: Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man
But it's not "missing details" or "partially wrong", it's missing everything that defines that costume as Superior Spider-Man. It'd be like if they put out a Ben Reilly Spider-Man, and you started insisting that it was a Spider-Girl Pop despite the lack of a female body, when that is what would distinguish the two characters. Otto's costume is specifically a more aggressive version of Peter's from the angled lenses to the sharper featured front spider emblem with fangs to the fatter, more flea-like back spider-emblem to the sharp scallops in the "belt" area. Without these things, it's just a red and black Spider-Man costume, which IS a thing:
