Thank you for the lovely story, Brian.
i was just going to say too much bad news in such a short time span. I'm not ready to speculate. Peter is still the Doctor to me and he will always be my Doctor.. I can't even accept his resignation yet. What is it with this 3 season curse? Nobody wants to stay longer than that. I really thought Peter would break 3 seasons.
I don't think it's really a curse, per se. It's a very physically demanding role, as Peter has pointed out before. He said that both he and Matt suffered from the same knee injury from all the running and then having to stop and turn suddenly. I thought, yep, the Doctor does do that a lot. The only actors to last more than 3 seasons were Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. David Tennant just seemed so long because his was really 3 seasons + some specials and his tenure was drawn out.
But yes, it will be fun to speculate the next Doctor. Maybe we'll get a female, Hayley Atwell or Marianne Jean-Baptiste. Or we'll get David Oyelowo or Chiwetel Ejiofor. If Eddie Redmayne hadn't done Fantastic Beasts, I would have hoped for him too.

I'd love to see Hayley as the Doctor. And you know, with Agent Carter cancelled and that other ABC show she had, she has time now. (But in all honesty, I'd rather have Agent Carter back.)

That would be some of the best news I've heard in a while should that happen.

Um just no. Romana can't turn in to a muscle-bound male called "Roman" and the Doctor equally can't change gender and become female Ms. Doctor Who! It should never have happened with the Master becoming Missy...I'm not for a pansexual agenda sorry.

Seconded to having Agent Carter back! I feel like they could make a triumphant comeback, if only given the chance!

I would love for Agent Carter to come back. I really just like Hayley Atwell a lot. I had never thought of her as Doctor Who....but now I can't stop thinking about it!! I think it would be great. Really looking forward to seeing who they pick for Lucky Number 13th.

I had heard that she was interested in the idea of playing Doctor Who and while I know it is controversial and probably not in the cards I would love to see her get a shot. I just really started watching the series so I'm not the greatest expert I suppose but isn't Missy a female Time Lord? So it is possible? Here's a little blurb I read about it:

The more I think about it the more I like the idea. I absolutely loved Missy Doctor Who and I already adore Hayley. Man, now I'm going to be kinda disappointed if it's not her. I'm sure I'll get over it though

In the past, it was only alluded to that the Time Lords can change genders. But The Master regenerating into Missy kind of made it canon now. And in the finale of last season one of the Time Lords on Gallifrey regenerated from male to female on screen. So it's quite possible that The Doctor can too. Unfortunately, I think the BBC will stick to the same proven formula of keeping the Doctor male. In fact, I've read rumblings that they want to go back to a Doctor much like David Tennant, dashing young Doctor and young female companion. Which I think is getting tired but the BBC doesn't want to lose ratings.

Re: HOW DO WE SAVE THE DOCTOR WHO LINE?
I love Hayley, but I wouldn't want her as the Doctor. I'd be quite happy for Agent Carter to come back though! However, if they make the Doctor another male, I wouldn't mind if he was ginger, haha. I am sure any pick will be strange at first, like always, but I have enough faith in the show to know I'll eventually like it. If they wanted to bring Hayley in as another Time Lord or a River Song type character, I'd be completely sold.
Overall I just want the show to be fun, and deep, and to hopefully bring back some old aliens that we haven't seen in the new series, or some new aliens that are unique. I love the show though, so I'll watch it until the bitter end.

So no Doctor Who update at NY Toy Fair... but here' some cheering up from Funko. This was posted yesterday. We're still getting Doctor Who Pops!
*for those who 'hate' Clara, hold back your angry rants. Funko is not going to just release Clara, they confirmed that another wave is coming. Let the waiting commence.

Cool! Great news that it'll be a full new wave. Here's hoping for some other classic series Doctors!

Re: HOW DO WE SAVE THE DOCTOR WHO LINE?
Was hoping for a surprise Pop or three at the Toy Fair, but alas, it was not meant to be.
I like that we know a wave is coming, just not when. I hope it's not a second half of the year thing, I need my DW Pop fix asap!!
That said, I'd be quite happy with a Clara, Amy, Rory, 1st Doctor, 2nd Doctor wave,
or throw in a couple creatures like the Ood, Judoon or Strax.

You would think they would time a release with the show coming back in April.

That's what I was expecting as well, it would definitely help with the show too and the sales since Chibnall will be releasing his new season Autumn of 2018.

CRAZY COLLECTION!!! I was wondering where did you get materializing tardis in the states? And if you didn't, I assumed that it was forbidden planet international? How much was shipping in total?
TY for showing this off and keeping this thread alive! Fingers crossed for a doctor who line that isn't filled with variants but with companions and monsters!

I was able to get the Materializing Tardis from a UK seller on Amazon for $24.99 shipped some time last year.

Thanks! I picked it up off of eBay from an international seller. I can't remember how much I gave for it eaxaftly, but the total with shipping was under $40.
