Doctor Who Wave 3 pops are now on Barnes & Noble. Also any members look for a discount of 40% off one item from them in your email. I just got the War Doctor pop for $6.45 after tax.

My ideal next few waves would be as follows. Honestly, I think the line probably needs to focus on what's current, iconic monsters (that people recognise even if they're not fans) and army builders. With some slightly older stuff slotted in along the way.

Wave 4:
12th Doctor in Red jacket
Clara
New Series Ice Warrior
New Series Zygon
Missy in purple
Night of the Doctor 8th Doctor
Exclusive - Missy in black

Wave 5 (late 2017)
12th Doctor variant
Bill
11th Doctor in green coat
Amy
Rory
Classic Silver and Blue Dalek
Exclusive - 11th Doctor in green coat with stetson

Wave 6
Series 10 figure - TBC
Series 10 figure - TBC
10th Doctor variant
Ood
Sontaran
1st Doctor
Exclusive - Black and White 1st Doctor
Exclusive - Ood with red eyes

I did my best to contribute by buying Davros! My 6-inch collection and my Dalek collection both required him!

Black and white variants of 1 and 2 would be neat and a nice homage to the earliest parts of the show.

AWESOME LINE UP!!! I do love that you kept at least one nuwho Doctor in each line, keeps it fresh and release the companions with their Doctor, why didn't funko hire you to do their line up!!! :DDDD
We could also have a Hot Topic Exclusive Clara, in her waitress outfit, or to make it easy for Funko, in her spacesuit. ;D

Would be really interested to know what the minimum viable amount of Pops Funko has to sell for a line to be successful, I can't imagine that they wouldnt be able to sell enough if someone did some kind of 12-month subscription of "A Doctor a month" to make it worthwhile to make all 12 doctors...

I think the Pertwee Doctor deserves this variant as well since only B&W prints of several of his episodes survived the great BBC purge. I remember re-runs of 'The Ambassadors of Death' coming on my local public television channel and the whole thing was shown in B&W. And IIRC, the first episode on my retail VHS copy of 'Invasion of the Dinosaurs' was also in B&W.

I certainly hope so. I bought all of wave 3 even though I'm already up to my eyeballs in NuWho Doctors. (Come on, Funko, you only give us two previously unreleased characters and only one is not a Doctor?) From the previous releases, I bought all the Nines and Elevens as well as most of the Tens. I'm stretching my budget as far as it can go to support these DW releases...sure hope Funko is taking notice. :happy3:
Pops I would love to see:

Hanna Barbera
  • Yogi Bear
  • Boo Boo
  • Captain Caveman
  • Snagglepuss (hurray, another one off the list!)
  • Baba Looey

DC
  • Lex Luthor
  • Talon
  • Impulse
  • Black Adam
  • Kilowog
  • Ras al Ghul
  • Brainiac

Marvel
  • Mr. Sinister
  • Bruce Banner
  • Scorpion
  • Mary Jane Watson
  • Bishop
  • Rintrah
  • Black Lightning
  • Mysterio
  • Iron Fist
  • M.O.D.O.K.
  • Spider-Woman

I think the idea of having less in a wave is a great idea, when they release only 3 or 4 in the wave I'm more likely to buy them all. When there are a lot I make myself just pick on or two to save the wallet.

Did my bit and bought all 5 of the new ones to keep my Who collection at 100%(only one I have at 100% thus far). Really loving these ones and hope they do more waves!

I really just need a Roy, Amy, Donna and Missy for my collection. I only really watched Doctor Who from the 9th on so I wouldn't personally buy any of the other Doctors (though I do think they should be made for fans). I don't personally care for the current Doctor or Clara, so I don't have him and wouldn't get any of them either (unless there was a Souffle Girl version of Clara - I quite liked her). All the variants of 10 and 11 are a little too much for me right now. I'd much rather have more different characters than variants.

I'll finally be heading out this weekend to hopefully get a few Pops. I admit I need to get William Wallace and B.A. Baracus more than anything else BUT I also hope to find the new 10 and War Doctor while I'm out to add as well. If I don't find the others then I'll Pop 11 and 12 into the bag too. Sadly Davros is a little pricey at the moment for what I can pay and I'd rather get two Pops for the price of one since it's been awhile, but I will get him eventually.

I think I'll be holding off on the fading Tardis and 12th in the space suit until next tax time, they are just too far above what I am willing to pay...right now, haha.

got my order of wave 3 from Amazon yesterday and all I can say is WOW! this wave is absolutely stunning. Davros and 12 w/ Guitar are the standouts, sculpt-wise, but then again the Cyber-implants on 11 came out awesome as well. 10 and War Doctor are perfect too. Great wave all around. I'll be picking up doubles for the MIB collection soon (something I only do for Doctor Who) plus I might have to get extras of 10, 12 and maybe 11 for custom fodder...the head/hair sculpt on 12 is soooo good and I've got to figure out how to swap arms on 10 and 11 for a regular suited 10 and season 7B 11. I might even pick up an extra Davros to turn into a classic version.

Rory ( -vampires in venice outfit)
Amy ( vampires in venice oufit)
Clara (face the raven outfit)

HT exclusive kissagram Amy
HT exclusive waitress Clara

Also a three pack with nuwho doctors featuring them all wearing glasses would be so cute
10 (the girl in the fireplace, tie around his head, sunglasses)
11 (angels take manhattan, wearing amys glasses holding the book)
12 ( wearing his burgundy jacket with the ray band)

Just got done watching 3 "seasons" of the show.
The Girl in the fireplace is one of my favorite episodes and
a Clockwork Men Funko would be amazing.

I have yet to get any of these...yet. Money just hasn't been in good supply lately, but hopefully next weekend I can go out and get a couple. These have recently moved to top of my list after I was able to get some others. Can't wait to have them...and then figure out where the heck they are going to go on my shelves!

Ew...Donna. Put her on the last of the super long lists of DW Pops I want, haha.
I agree though about variants, I've had enough of current Doctor variants, let's see the other Doctors, more aliens/creatures and other companions like Amy, Clara and Rory...and I guesssssss Donna...just way down on the list. :D

I LOVE Donna. She's probably my favourite New Series companion.

But it's nearly 10 years since her main series, and 6 years since her last non-flash back appearance.

I love her, and I know she was popular. I just don't know if she would sell well enough (which is the topic of this thread).

That list wasn't my dream wish-list. There are SOOOO many pops I would love - but sadly I realise they probably wouldn't sell enough.

I have been a Doctor Who fan since I was very young, and have been collecting Doctor Who toys for the past 10 years. That list was more of an educated guess of what would sell well enough to keep the line going - with hindsight about what has and hasn't done well in previous Doctor Who toy lines.

Daleks always sell well. And the 10th Doctor remains one of the best selling New Series Doctors in other ranges.

As much as I don't want another 10th doctor variant either - they're important to keep appealing to the wider buying audience.

I doubt the line can be supported just by appealing to fans.

Is a non-fan buying a Doctor Who present for their friend going to recognise Donna or the 10th Doctor. More than likely they're going to at least recognise the 10th Doctor.

While Donna is near the bottom of my list of companions (Martha is bottom) I have to say after rewatching her run I can appreciate the great story line they come up with. Just did not care for her.

Her best episode was "Turn left"

Yup, right there with ya! I don't hate Donna, I don't hate any of the characters actually, but she's not even close to the top as far as companions or a Pop I'd want. That said IF they ever make her, she needs the bug on her back from Turn Left, OR they need to make her from The Library as one of those information things with her face on it, lol. She just annoyed me from the start, but a couple episodes with her were good. I like Martha better than her, especially if they make a Pop and give her a big gun! :D

She just annoyed me from the start, but a couple episodes with her were good. I like Martha better than her, especially if they make a Pop and give her a big gun! :D

Martha got way to whiney like whats her name fro mthe brady bunch always saying "Marsha Marsha Marsha" oh why doesnt the doctor love me wah wah wah

I think you mean Rose. I never saw Martha whine but Rose whined the entire time during donna's 2 part finally

Martha had the doe-eyes for the Doctor throughout season 3. It was highly annoying. She's at the bottom of my list of companions even though some of my favorite episodes were during her season.

The entire two part episode where the Doctor locked his memories away was 120 minutes of her whining. And then whenever she met anybody else it was all the Doctor doesnt notice me. After a couple strong episodes in the beginning she was a doe eyed whiney teenager and annoying.

Rose was a stronger more complex character. Martha was very one sided.

Yeah, I can't disagree that Martha was a little too woe is me about the Doctor not caring about her, but she was the rebound companion after Rose afterall. I still liked her more than Donna though, and she had some solid episodes later. Overall though Martha didn't get a lot to do really, not like all of the other companions, I just hated the way Donna talked, and how rude she was, I know people look at it different because of how much "stronger" she was, but she just annoyed the hell out of me and I liked the 10th Doctor too much, so I couldn't stand the way she talked to him. Kind of like how rude the 12th Doctor was to Clara when he first came on, I didn't like him at all, especially compared to 11, but he's grown on my as he's calmed down and I like him. All just opinions...I'll keep watching this show and buying the Pops forever and ever. :D

Today I popped into my local comic book shop and he was having a massive sale which helped me and my Doctor Who collection.

I got Davros and K-9 at full price and then another 6 for half price, River, Rose, Sarah Jane, Jack with Vortex Manipulator, 9 with Banana and 12 with Spoon! and he threw in a Wilson Fisk for free because he was given a box of 36 of them! (Very Random)

A good day for me, a bad day for my shelves!

Hi Stew, I'm guessing that either

1) your shop buys exclusives from other businesses for resale (comics shops in my area do the same)

or

2) Vortex Manipulator Jack, K-9, Banana Nine, and Spoon Twelve are not exclusives in the UK

If I'm not mistaken, no retailer in Canada was able to get Jack with the Manipulator through their regular channels, making it very scarce on this side of the pond. For you to get Jack at half off is making some folks in other parts of the Commonwealth very envious indeed. :)
Pops I would love to see:

  • Yogi Bear
  • Boo Boo
  • Captain Caveman
  • Snagglepuss (hurray, another one off the list!)
  • Baba Looey

  • Black Adam
  • Kilowog
  • Ras al Ghul
  • Brainiac

Marvel
  • Mr. Sinister

  • Mary Jane Watson
  • Bishop
  • Rintrah
  • Black Lightning
  • Mysterio

First off, I LOVE that they made the War Doctor, I skipped Eleventh/Mr. Clever on this wave (I'm not the biggest 11th fan, and have 3 versions), and only a couple weeks ago did I get the rest of the companions (on hot cash).
When Funko releases a huge wave at once, I have to space it out and it'll look like it's not flying of the shelves, also they were more likely over produced and that's why they feel it's a failure.
Either way, I hope they make previous Doctors, Ood, Slitheen, Martha, Donna, Amy & Rory. I could definitely live without Clara.
Started collecting: June 2015, Favorite lines: Pop Vinyl and Mystery Mini
First Pop: Heimdall, First Convention Pop: Red Eye Frieza, Fave Grail: SDCC Billy (Saw)
Favorite completed sets: Firefly, Michael Jackson, One Piece and Community, Most owned category: Animation

I can't live without Clara :(
I love her and Jenna Coleman so much.

I wonder how the sales this quarter look. I hope for another wave before the 10th season in the Spring.

Please don't let this thread die. Keep Doctor Who relevant!! We've got a great Christmas special coming up and a new series Class which Peter guest starred in and was absolutely amazeballs!
