I have wondered about that. There was a glittery Ariel at GameStop on Sunday. It makes me wonder if exclusives are truly exclusive?

Found three of the glitter Ariels at Bed Bath and Beyond today! Had been checking Gamestops around me for awhile and found none.

We have all 3. The HT Glitter is different than the "error" glitter that you can find at other retailers.

The original HT exclusive was a solid dress with glitter, which looks like it was canceled and changed to a semi-transparent dress with glitter. They must have made a TON of the original concept, and decided to ship them out to not lose on their investment...

Gosh, I didn't know about that. But it makes good business sense for Funko to have done that.

I have one now from Bed, Bath and Beyond in Bourbonnais, IL. They said it was the only glitter one among the Ariel figures that they received.

I personally like the look of the translucent one better. This one looks like someone glued glitter on it at home almost.

I agree, I think it looks fake too. I bought it anyway just in case it was worth anything later on. It's still not on PPG yet because they only show translucent ones. I had to ask a person who worked there if someone returned it after they put glitter on it and realized they messed it up then brought it back, but she said they had it right out of the delivery truck like that...

It's listed on PPG as glitter non translucent. They previously had both this one and the translucent one listed as Hot Topic exclusive, but changed it recently. It does kind of look like something you could do at home, but I bought it since I'm almost an Ariel completest (and love the dancing pops!).

I ordered the common Ariel through HT online. When I picked her up it was the "glitter/error" version.

My LCBS had some pulled aside that they charged $15 for it. Normally I would never pay extra for an error that is that easily replicated (and no way to prove the batch via date stamp). But I think it's cuter than both versions, so I went for it....and I'm too lazy to make my own version .
