Another Glitter Ariel????

Saw on facebook that someone picked up a glitter Ariel(not the Hot topic exclusive) at EB Games so I went to a couple to see if this was a factory error or if all Ariels were like this. The first one i went to were just plain. Went to another one and found one of of 18 Ariel. Looks really good in person.

That's not THE glitter Arial. The actual one has a translucent dress.

I'm trying to remember if Gamestop was getting a glitter Ariel. I think I remember seeing that in Facebook, but I'm not 100% sure.

The pictures of Glitter Ariel I remember seeing a while back didn't have a translucent dress. So is there no way to get the Glitter Ariel without the translucent dress?

Now to double check the Gamestops to see if they have Ariel in stock...then to see if she's glittery!

To be fair I don't think it's an exclusive. Just found it weird it was different from all the others they had in store

thanks for the great pic. man, looking at how that glitter is raised, on the dress under HER left arm just makes me think its a factory defect or something. we have seen pops that glow when they weren't supposed to, because of the factory not cleaning out the molds and leftover glow in the injection batches.

i would think the glitter would be beneath a clearcoat, or at least smooth like the glitter catwoman. i just don't know.

Interesting. I wonder if Funko has decided to start issuing chases without the chase sticker on them? That would be an interesting approach to take, it would make it easier for regular people to find chases. At least for a while, until the flippers catch on!

I went to 2 gamestops. One doesnt have a single ariel. Other one got quite a few but no glitter. oh well.

i wish we could get an answer from funko on this one... my guess would be that this was supposed to be the HT excl. but they wanted something better so these are just randomly out there in ariel shipments and the translucent one is the HT excl.

Sounds about right, I remember how much they trash talked Black Panther Glitter Ex. From Walmart due to not being a smooth finish.. Maybe last minute Change ? :-k

With the delay to Hot Topic and the original rendering suggesting glitter on a normal figure, I think you're on to something.

^ That's why I was so confused because the first picture we got of the HT exclusive looked like the pop seen in the first post of this topic, not the ugly, translucent one. So the only way to get the former is to randomly find it in store?

Yeah it's a little baffling. Enough of them have been found that we can be pretty sure it's not some kind of factory error or mistake. My guess is that it is a regular chase, but for whatever reason Funko didn't put the chase sticker on it.

i went ahead and picked one up. Just in case.
Found a great deal on Ebay that made her only a few dollars more than buying her at a store, and significantly less expensive than spending $50 on gas driving around looking for her. .... which I did last weekend and had no luck.

I have to say... the glitter job is absolute JUNK. One of her arms has a TON of glitter, the other almost none, there is some glittered overspray, it's pretty awesome just how bad these turned out. lol

Yeah I caved and bought one on ebay for $22 shipped. Didn't think that was too bad and haven't seen one in store. I was thinking about it and I really just wanted to be Ariel complete (except for that pesky metallic one that I can't seem to get a hold of

We just had to get all three. For the record... my wife's Common Ariel was the LAST to arrive. Can't recall how many months ago we pre-ordered her from Toy Wars, but she came in the mail Friday so now we can take a pic of all three.

Unless someone can tell me otherwise... It is my understanding the Rare "Spray-on" glitter version (far right in pic) can only be found at Eb Games, Gamestop and 3rd party retailers. The boxes aren't marked chase or anything. The really really really bad spray-on glitter is the only difference between her and the common. (for the record... i think that bad glitter job just makes her more awesome. Maybe because I giggle every time I compare her right arm to her left)
