Hot Topic Exclusive Resident Evil Tyrant Glow Error

A couple of days ago I found someone selling a Hot Topic Exclusive Tyrant Funko Pop Glow Error on eBay. I walked into Hot Topic yesterday with a UV flashlight looked through 7 of them and 1 of them had the same glow error. I was hoping this was going to be a widespread error and I think I may be right.

Here the one I found:

Charging it up with a UV flashlight

Turned off UV flashlight, you can see the bottom of the head / neck area glowing

Close up of bottom of head / neck area glowing

If you have the HT exclusive Tyrant please check it and post your results here.

Yes, I believe so but I've been talking to a guy in Virginia who an error glow as well but his faintly glows between the upper leg area near the claw. So I'd check all over his body if you have him.

Yeah I understand the feeling, as soon as I saw it on eBay, I said I must find one. It only took me one store and searching through 7 of them to find one with the error. Make sure you have a UV flashlight with you because if not it will be very hard to try to make it glow in the store otherwise.

It just looks like the Target Tyrant was produced first, and the factory started the Hot Topic run with some leftover Target assembly. I wouldn't call that an error. It's a minor production variant that nobody would notice if the plastic didn't glow.

I think your theory might be right, I emailed Funko with pictures to see what they had to say about it.

It sounds like they simply made a few mistakes and mixed up the Hot Topic and Target Exclusives. Minor error. Don't see it affecting collector value at all.

Mine doesn't have the glow on the neck but the inner vinyl between the legs and the torso does glow . I tried getting a picture but it's too small for the camera to see it

Would you mind posting a picture of it glowing? So far I've found out about 4 neck glows from other pop collectors. There has to be more in the wild.

Do you have a UV flashlight? It helps charge the glow pop figure way faster/brighter and makes it easier to photograph.

I've heard of the error glow taskmaster, can you post a picture of the Baymax? I haven't heard of that error glow.

Do you have a UV flashlight? It helps charge the glow pop figure way faster/brighter and makes it easier to photograph.

I used a black Light on it but I'll try it again tonigth

So far only 5 neck glows and 2 faint leg glows confirmed out of the thousands produced so don't feel too bad :-k

I can't find one at HT or Target. Someone bought all of them at the local Target. Anyone have the DPCI # for target? Any help would be appreciated

You probably already know this, but the Target one glows and the Hot Topic one does not (well, other than some odd bits and pieces on some per this thread). They look identical in regular light. Personally I am all about glow Pops so took a pass on the HT version. Here is the DPCI for the Target version:

But Target was running a promotion today, if you bought the new Resident Evil game you got a Tyrant for free if they had any in stock. From what others are saying and from what I saw today, it seems that most of the stores have been cleared out at this point. I wanted the game anyway, so fortunately I was able to score the deal at the second store I went to. Anyway, Brickseek was very reliable for me on this one, so give it a try!

They did a give away with the game? I'm so mad because I was after that Pop and I'm pretty sure that stock JUST came in. I knew I should have checked the stores yesterday. *sigh* I'll check HT too then ............

It's a Target Deal, yes, but you can buy the Tyrant out right without the game. The Tyrant at Target glows. He's also at Hot Topic but does not glow or at least not supposed to. Yet the name of this thread has shown otherwise. ;-)

Yeah, I wouldn't have known about it except some people posted it on IG. The ad ran Sunday I think. Here's a link to it from IG:

I'm not sure if it was just for Tuesday or if it's ongoing. The first place I went got 4 Tyrants in and all were gone by the time I got there (30 minutes after store open). The second store I went to had two Tyrants sitting on the shelf and no clue there was a promotion going on lol

They didn't even know where the games were. I had to wait while they searched the stockroom. I did leave with it though
