Has anybody done this?

Postby GREECE MONKEYz » Sat Feb 18, 2017 7:28 am

Anybody ever use a cotton tshirt to give their pops a quick dusting?

Work well?

Any advice or warning?

Thanks!

I use a terry kitchen towel that I just dried my hand on. It gives just a little moisture for dust to stick to, then throw it in the wash. Swiffers are awesome for the shelves and the rides and such too.

I have a set of Swiffer Dusters just for Pops. And I wrote "POPS" on the box, too.

Not odd to me. I use Swiffers for all my dusting as I have two cats and I need both dust and cat hair removed.

I use a brush for heavy dust and then a micro fiber cloth to clean em up. If your display area accumalates a lot of dust, you could buy a dust filter, I bought one a while ago and a new one recently and theres little to no dust in the room, you could also use a ioniser as that would help take all the dust out of the air. I only do this because I keep high end statues and figures in the same display area, but POPs are collectibles too

A t-shirt works good for light dusting but if you want to keep everything pristine, any of the above options might help :)

I've never had a need for anything other than a Swiffer. Maybe I should be looking closer!

Yup, no odd here either! I have tried a cloth rag, cut up a towel, all of that but I find the swiffers work best too!

When I remove my pops from the shelves for random pics, to take to work, or to put on a table for the occasional dusting, I use whatever shirt I'm wearing to dust the pop, but a Swiffer duster from the dollar store for the shelves. I don't really see the need to have anything more complicated since the items and shelves are dustless once I am done. :D

I use old shirts to clean and think they work great. I normally dust the boxes with a duster and gently wipe the pop window with shirts.

If it's a figure that has a lot of detail then a large, soft paintbrush works very well!

I hear you. Usually when that happens, the swiffer I was using turns into the duster I use for everything else. Saves money! :D

What kind of dust filter do you use? I live in AZ so there's a lot of dust.

This one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/VonHaus-Purifi ... ust+filter

It's really good, sucks in a lot of dust from any room, my apartment is 2BR, and open plan, it works well in the main room and my bedroom :)
It's got an ioniser too which makes dust particles clog together and fall out of the air

It removes dust/pollen/dirt and smoke. I don't smoke a lot but sometimes I have to(medicinal stuff for my cancer) but my roommate does more often and she just puts this next to her and it filters all the smoke out :)
