It’s a slice of life/music anime. Bocchi is a girl who dreams of being popular, and figured she could be if she learned the electric guitar and joined a rock band. The problem is she’s too introverted, shy, and socially anxious to have any friends, let alone know anyone in a band. When someone finally acknowledges her and invites her to join a band, her life begins to change little by little as she overcomes all her anxieties and self-doubts.

If you’re into slice of life anime and Japanese pop rock music, I highly recommend it. It won a bunch of awards and nominations when it came out a year or two ago.

No wonder I never heard of it, it's very rare that the main character is a girl plus I'm not into music

In my opinion, Anime is easier than with other licenses, My point goes that most Animes have Mangas, you can see the Design, characters and more previously they get in the manga, for example, I already read the Demon Slayer Manga, and know how it ends. Also, they can sign an NDA to get more info and get stuff earlier.

Oh yeah i 100% understand that. More so just wishful thinking! I am curious what the average time from concept to production is however. Like what is the fastest they could action something and get it as a public release that is seen from a show.

I wonder if they did that with Gear 5 Luffy. That was a really fast turnaround if you’re an anime-only fan, but Gear 5 was in the manga around mid-2022 I think.

Not Anime, but She-Hulk had two exclusives drop in the last month (one as preorder) and the show aired in late Summer/early Fall 2022. Daredevil would have been a spoiler if released at the time the first wave came out and Madisynn was probably a side character Funko didn’t expect to be so popular.

Sometimes I think it’s Funko trying to make sure their is enough interest and other times I think it may be the licensors being slow to release the license to make merchandise for certain movies, tv shows and films. I think a lot of the bigger animes have licensing deals in place to allow certain companies to have the first stab at releasing figures from the current seasons.

Yeah and some licenses seem really good about letting them get concepts early so that it comes out closer to release date, while others seem like the concept only develops after it airs. The whole thing is fascinating to me though. I would love to see the behind the scenes process to know why certain items drop when they do.
