First thing I thought of was boxer shorts like valorandvellum was eluding to.

Second thought was Bald Bull. I hear famous boxer and think Mike Tyson's punch out lol
Life is full of questions isn't it? Though, naturally I prefer to think of them as Riddles.

If an IYO SKY funko/proto shows hit me up ASAP!

Yes please. Let's get some famous Boxer pops. How about a 2 pack of great matches. Or just an Ali standing over Sunny Liston. That would be awsome.

How about a boxing moment like the movie moment line? but Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield. I'm sure there are a tonne of great matchups through history.
Thank you everyone for this awesome community

One of the Greatest Boxers...

Postby PopPChulo » Sun Jun 24, 2018 4:43 pm

Hey All,

I was thinking - Why is it that we don't have a Muhammad Ali Pop? I mean, this is the greatest boxer of all time arguably. I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't mind having a Muhammad Ali Pop. I'm surprised that this isn't a thing yet. Anybody else agree?

Many people agree with your position. There have been several discussions about Ali Pops in the historical people and iconic sports moments threads. There is definitely demand for Ali and other iconic boxers and sports personalities.

I mean it's kind of hard for me to understand why someone as iconic as Ali would not be a pop figure. At this point, The only thing I can speculate is that it may be something that has to do with licensing but at the same time -- I feel like the estate for Ali wouldn't be oppose to something of this nature.

I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a Cassius Clay Variant - I think you could have the Red and White Boxers as the standard pop and a Ali with Black and Gold Trim Boxers as a chase variant.. I think honestly, there are many people that want this boxing icon in their collection. I have other icons that I want but Ali is sitting pretty high on the top of my list and seems like something that would visually be pretty easy to accomplish.

I would love to see a Ali pop. However I would really like to see Funko make a Boxing legends line. With all the greats. Would be alot of really cool pops that could be made and some chase versions with blood spatter on the box.

I think it probably has more to do with coming to an agreement with the estate on a deal. Agree that many out there including myself would jump at a chance to own a Clay/Ali pop.

Hahaha Superman Vs Muhammad Ali would be dope. I could see this one being something that mad people would want in there collection.

I'm just really interested in seeing a Muhammad Ali pop - I don't think the estate would mind but then again who knows when it comes to things done behind doors and getting licensing to be accepted.

They already have a famous boxer pop, but it's Manny Pacquiao who is a not a dude I would want to honor.

Ali makes much more sense and is much more deserving. Honest question tho, would it be disrespectful to make a Cassius Clay variant? Didn't he change his name cause he considered Clay to be a slave name?
