If we get historical figures, who would you want to see?

Yeah you both are probably right on Anne Frank. I was trying to think of a wide variety of individuals as there are so many possibilities. My students are always fascinated by Anne Frank's story when they read about her in our history text, so that's why I chose her.

When thinking of historical figures, Abraham Lincoln atuomatically pops into my head. I think an Albert Einstein pop would do well. Not sure about other historical fiures like Plato or Isaac Newton tho.

With the sad passing of Sen. John McCain yesterday it made me think about what if Funko created a series of historical figures Pops? I'm not sure how licensing would work, but there are so many people that have played major roles in history. I think it would be a nice way to pay tribute to the men and women who dedicated their lives to trying to make our world safe to live in for all.

This isn't intended to be a political post, so regardless of your own personal beliefs please keep the conversation civil and respectful. Who are some historical figures you would like to see as Pops as a tribute to their contributions and sacrifices?

It is pretty hard to choose for me, but I would start with these people as a first series.

2. Albert Einstein
3. Nelson Mandela
4. Harriet Tubman
5. Anne Frank
6. Mother Teresa

I think inventors and other scientists can work, along with humanitarians such as Mandela, Mother Theresa and Kofi Annan.
Politics is something else, perhaps. I don't think people would be bothered with Lincoln, but as we've seen with The Vote Pop!s, going into (relative) modern politics would be a tad... Controversial, to say the least.

No idea how Americans feel about their presidents, but in Europe some people would get angry over, say, Mitterrand or Kohl. Or even Churchill.
Strangely enough I feel like they can't do much with European history. I expect not many people are waiting for Caesar, Napoleon or Henry VIII.

But since Funko is first and foremost for the American market, this might very well solve itself. American history it is!

All excellent suggestions. I work in radio so a Nikola Tesla one would be a must have for me. Marconi is credited with the invention of radio but anyone in the industry truly knows it was Tesla’s inventions that paved the way for modern radio. Would love to see an inventor line

I'll just let arts and sciences out of it cause there would be way too many I would want !( painters with Van Gogh, Turner, De Vinci etc; writers with Victor Hugo, Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe etc; actors like Charlie Chaplin, scientists, physicians etc)

I'd love to see Louis XIV, François 1er, Marie Antoinette, Henri IV or Napoléon but that's because I study them and I don't know if they are well known in other countries. I guess Louis XIV or Napoléon are so I'd love to see at least them ^^
Among the ones I want THE MOST there is one that may be weird : James Cook. I admire him so much since I'm a little girl without really knowing why ! I always wanted to see more about him but unfortunately he is often frogotten and that's sad ^^ And a Pop from an explorator could be soooo cool and well done !

I'm not sure about that. I mean, even if personalities like Churchill are controversial I don't think people would be angry. The culture is still using him a lot, in movies etc. I think he is "old" enough to be accepted as a historical figure, whatever we might think about him. At the contrary Mitterrand for example would be really too recent to be a figure. And considering the popularity of the line about the royal family I'm sure that European history will sell, thanks to the huge number of popular series and movies about royalty, war etc. People would almost buy Henry VIII after watching The Tudors. If people want Cleopatra they would want to get Caesar too I think. I don't know for sure about other european countries ( I'd love to have french historical figures, I know people know them, especially when they helped America like Lafayette did, but I don't know if they would be popular enough for the American market, even if the french market is big) but I think English figures could interest a lot of people that aren't even passionate about History ^^
