Gold Hopper (40 count!!!)

I looked at one behind glass at BoomLoot in Irvine, CA today. It was GLORIOUS!! Lol

Yes, they've had it for several months now. Its listed on their website for $2800. I would have bought it but I only had $2799 on me. Lol

It's in the glass case to the left of the cash register.

Yes, they've had it for several months now. Its listed on their website for $2800. I would have bought it but I only had $2799 on me. Lol

It's in the glass case to the left of the cash register.

Someone will buy it if they haven't already.

With this Pop being so easy to fake, how do people tell what they're buying is legit? Unless they're buying from someone they know got it at Funday's, it seems practically impossible. The box is the same as the common, the sticker was being reproduced the next day on Ebay and a can of spray paint can turn a common Hopper gold. Am I missing a telltale sign?

There are some things to look out for when telling a fake apart from a legit gold hopper. The first is to check the bottom of the box. A legit gold hopper would have the stamp "FM 180515" imprinted directly onto the cardboard. Another is the sticker itself. A legit gold hopper's sticker has a sort of different cut to it (that is it is not cut in a straight line), and from what I could tell the sticker color is a different shade of red that is seen on the fake hoppers. Lastly, I would say the gold paint itself is different on the legit gold hopper. On a legit gold hopper, the gold paint is bright, vibrant, and sparkly I would say. It doesn't have a solid gold color. Hard to explain, but take a look at the paint between a legit gold hopper and a fake, it should be pretty obvious.

But yeah, it is a shame that there are so many fakes out there.

Odd that these are so rare, yet people keep finding them. I read there were some fakes out there, so careful on that, especially if you paid a hefty price for it.
