Yeah, I would definitely want proof that the person was at the table and there. Too many good "customs" around.

The other problem is where they get manufacture i'm sure if they wanted to they could easily take the molds and make their own.

Especially since I think it's the same mold as the common Hopper, just gold instead.

Yes some people can tell the difference but the gold being a metallic glitter gold, which is harder to fake.. best option like mentioned before it to make sure you have as much proof as possible from seller

oh yeah forsure. just a matter of them painting it different color. i'm sure it's the same with any variant. I'm sure there is more to it then just putting on the serial number or edition underneath. probably has something to do with the work flow or programming/new stamp mold or something.

I don't know how it all works, but i've seen it done in other things I collect and I'm sure it can be applied across the board.

Any images or links that you can share? I'm curious how these bootlegs/knockoffs look.

Unfortunately in today's time anything can be faked. They can even photo shop pictures. Personally I wouldn't buy from anyone unless I know you or a close friend that knows you. The problem that comes up is even when you get it in hand what do you compare it to?
