80th Anniversary Wizard of Oz Pops?

Hey all, I recently saw the Wizard of Oz the other day, and took notice that next year will be the films 80th anniversary! Im aware that we have already gotten pops from the film, but I would like to know if any of you think that it would be a great idea in getting another wave done, and getting another chance to get them, especially for new funko fans. I think Funko can remake the original characters again, in great detail and the variations would be cool. Id love to see a sepia version of dorothy, and a glitter version of dorthy and her red shoes. What are your guys thoughts? This would defintely be a fantastic idea, and i would buy the whole set in a heartbeat. The movie is iconic, that resonates through all generations.

Maybe a special movie moment for the anniversary? Like the house on top of the witch? Love the movie and even the older versions of the pops. Funko did such a great job with NBC, I would be really happy if they gave the Wizard of Oz a similar treatment.

Would love to see a new release for them! Love the red glitter shoes idea. Also want a pop of Toto by himself (flocked), and new molds for everybody! I love the Vynl versions they released.

I can see this as a possibility. A lot of vaulted Pops have had new molds of the characters released this year. It would be wonderful to have new molds of the Wizard of Oz. The 80th anniversary seems like the perfect time to do this.

New sculpts would be very welcome for this range, always sitting on the fence because I always had other pops to purchase before them.

I'd love a new set, so would my mum. I'd assume rights wouldn't be an issue as they only recently made the Dororthy & Scarecrow VYNL pack. This year's been pretty good for some older Pops getting new versions, so fingers crossed!

I would love to see new molds produced for this. We still haven't finished our set of the original molds. I love your idea of the glitter and sepia Dorothy. A chrome Tin Man would be cool too. :bounce:

Hopefully they still have the rights, or at least can acquire them back. I remember their last wizard of oz product was a VYNL that released last year. Hopeful for some new products, especially for their anniversary.

i total agree with you. i have a few of the first wave but havent completed it... so hard and expensive to complete it

Honestly I didn't even consider getting the wobblers. I do have a few and they are awesome. Thanks for the idea...I might have to actually look into this

New versions of these would be cool. Leave the others vaulted just bring something out different for newer collectors. Im glad I was collecting when the OG ones came out.
