Oh, ok. I was confused because the topic is about mundane characters whose pops are valuable.

I find the same with Luna love good her value shot up alot.

I love Luna's design for that pop. She is my only HP pop besides Snape (RIP Alan Rickman :( ).

The SDCC one? Like a couple of months after the con I think.

What?! Genos is awesome!

Tenya is the pop im surpised is valued that high. Hes such a boring character for me.

Depends on how you see the characters I guess.

Genos is definitely cooler than Tenya, but he doesn't get that much character development so his character grows pretty stale.

Tenya, on the other hand, has much better development which makes his character a lot more likable imo.

I personally love good character development and it's part of the reason why MHA is so popular right now, which contributes to the higher price for Tenya. (that and the whole "is it vaulted?" and popcultcha fiasco that I'm still really salty about)

All of the MHA pops suddenly rising. I feel like it was fake hype created by shill bidding.

Right now, I think the Faker from MOTU was surprising.

Definitely Faker. It was sitting at less than $20 for a loooong time and suddenly surged to $100 after the MOTU license cancellation rumors.

I cant tell you how many times I passed on that POP at Target. Man, regrets suck. LOL.

I still get upset over the Tenya. Last one of the main characters we need for MHA.

I agree with both of you. I don't know why specifically Faker has risen so much - other MOTU has not such as Ram Man, Stinkor, etc.

Wave 1 and SDCC exclusives have risen so much in the last 2 weeks. The recent releases have been slower on the uptick except for Faker.

It’s not too bad, tbh. But my main line is SW, which I’ve been collecting for years, so my perspective is skewed.

Shinfo13 wrote:I found out about Spike this week too and it is definitely weird but its arguably the most beloved and unanimously praised anime show out there. I'll surely get flamed for saying it, but MHA is overrated and will lose hype the longer it goes on so I find the notion of paying $120+ for Tenya absurd. I actually find it insulting that the 2nd tier character born with exhaust pipes protruding from his calves is somehow more valuable than Spike Spiegel, but I'm just being an anime snob at this point lol

The one Pop that surprised me the most though is La Muerte from Book of Life. She has been sitting at $100+ for as long as I've been collecting and I didn't think the movie had that big of a following or did particularly well when it came out. My only guess as to why she stays high is because of how fragile and detailed she is. I display oob and that's the one I fear breaking anytime we shift things around in the display cases or there is an earthquake.

I'm with you on la muerte! It's not like the movie blew up, but this pop is insane

I was surprised how hard it was to get the target bullseye pop. I just wanted it to customize it. I can see the nostalgia of some ad icons like from cereal one would eat when they were a kid, but target's mascot? Well I underestimated that and spent half a day finding one lol

I’m quite upset about Tenya as well, but I wouldn’t blame it entirely on yourself.

The whole vaulting and pre order cancellations fiasco could have been avoided if Funko had just communicated with the public better or if they had just chosen a better time to vault it (they already knew how popular the series was getting during the time they vaulted Tenya so it still confuses me as to why they decided to discontinue him when they could have easily made money)

I still wish I had gotten him before the price rise, but Funko should have treated this character better.

Duck Dodgers GITD (Blue Gamma) - San Diego Comic Con Exclusive (750 pieces). Not a bad-looking Pop and I have to admit, I don't remember this show although I grew up watching Looney Tunes. I'm thinking the price for this Pop is high because of the low production number?

Probably just some hype since they were just recently vaulted, and people are riding on the anime hype brought by DBZ and MHA lines.
