Favorite Effect/Finish on a Pop

I have to agree with what some of the other Fanatics are saying, it depends on the character as to what finish it should be. I really like when Chewbacca is done as a flocked pop. C3po was great as a Metallic.

Hard to pick a favorite but I can describe why particular figures tend to be my favorites.

Glow- When done right can create otherworldly effects that also help accentuate the figures form. My favorite examples are Twilight Ringwraith, Glow Balrog, and Coldhardt/Reinhardt.

Flocked- I’m not a huge fan but it does make sense for a lot of the characters. Scooby-Doo, Krampus and Porg for the shoutout on this.

Chrome- Cool effect but definitely overused. The Marvel Chromes do not seem as “rich” as the DBZ Vegeta chromes and up close there a noticeable inconsistencies with the application.

Clear/Transparent- under appreciated in my eyes. On this note, I would like to see colored-clear Pops. Example like a frozen-blue-clear character. Kind of like Blue Heisenberg...which makes me think...

Clear Color Glitter?- Don’t know what this effect is actually called but Blue Heisenberg/Yellow Astral Dr. Strange are amazing! This is one of my favorites.

Metallic- Tried and true, I feel like I am never let down by metallic. Beerus, Gold Frieza, Bender, Magneto are my personal standouts.

I will say my one of my favorite Pop’s is Freddy Flux- that chrome job is pristine! And with the combo of the clear visor and neon paint on black face with metallic gold suit lining makes it a complete package!

I think my order would be metallic, chrome, patina, GITD, halographic, diamond, normal and last would be flocked.

I like partially transparent, something like the flame jackjack or surtur, or even the Star Wars lightsaber hands

I know at least for myself, as cool as metallic would be I feel like glow would get the spirit of what the pop is representing better across. We know that the Super Saiyan transformation is usually paired with some sort of aura, which would make whoever transformed appear to be glowing. And Funko has been releasing some really nice glow pops recently, I remember seeing in the Dance Hall someone's Beetlejuice that had a fantastic glow.

Glow where there is electricity is awesome. I still love the Tron GITDs

Chrome is nice, but I like the mix of chrome and regular paint or mettalic. Like how the last lacc colossus were made. It's not over done with just chrome and the character is still very distinguishable.

I like the metallic and GITD pops the best. But I have to agree with the others, the special effects on the SS Gohan pop is incredible! I hope they release a GITD version of that pop.

As much as I loooove gold, the glow in the dark pops are so amazing when the glow is good. But then I’m a person who likes to lay with the lights off and watch the Christmas tree lights too..

I'm finding this a tough question, because I like several of the finishes. So here we go:

Metallic and Chrome are great for my Ironman Collection
Glow in the Dark is good for several of my other collections
Monochromatic is great for my Captain America and Thor Collections.
Flocked is great for characters that have fur, hair, etc.
