You would think with Pokemon being one of the bigger lines, they would try out Mario. I think it has something to do with license agreements, I know they have been making posable toys and then the new Lego line for Mario.

The thing about Pokémon is that it’s operated by a different company under the Nintendo umbrella. So, that license is probably way easier to get. Nintendo themselves seem to always want something special if another company uses their licenses (like making the legos interactive)
