If I were adding cereal PoPs, gotta go with David's suggestion, the Cap'n would be awesome. I'd then go for Quisp and Quake and maybe Yummy Mummy.

DocRamon wrote:i'm fairly certain that this came up before, months ago, and brian said that the cereal monsters didn't sell well. (probably why they were retired.) at the time, he said that no other ad icons were in the works. that could have changed by now, but we certainly have not heard of anything in the pipeline.
I think that part of the reason the cereal monsters didn't sell well is because a lot of these ad icons are only well known to US residents, and certain other countries. Personally I didn't even know who they were til I googled them because these cereals aren't available locally. As an international brand, Funko would want to make icons that are renown the world over, to create more interest and generate more sales. Otherwise, they'd just be cute toys no one would have a connection to. I don't own any of the cereal monsters except for Freddy Frankenberry, and that's because I adore the colour, and how cute he is I've had a few friends ask me who he is, and they mock me for buying a character I don't know, which is why I say it is lost on most non-US residents.
Having said that, that is not to say there should not be any more ad icons in future. The more famous (or rather, international) icons would still sell well in my (humble) opinion, such as aforementioned Cap'n Crunch, Tony the Tiger, Pillsbury Doughboy, McDonalds' line and A&W Bear (i loved that guy!). Just my opinion , nobody stone me.

Makes sense. Brian is going to create items that sell and help his company grow. Maybe in the future an Ad figure could be an exclusive

Re: More Ad icons
i've always thought that ad icons weren't popular because the brand loyalty just isn't there.
i mean, there are certain characters that are definitely more popular than others. the cereal monsters do have their own little following. the pillsbury doughboy is a known, collectible character even for people that might not regularly purchase pillsbury products. some characters, like the geico gecko, are more pop culture kitsch -- similar to psy -- that might sell decently.
but i think the jolly green giant is a great example of... who is gonna buy that?
sure, it might look cool as a pop. but if i'm a regular consumer, i'm most likely not attached to the jolly green giant. if i'm at the store and another can of corn is cheaper, i'm buying that can, not the green giant one. i have no brand loyalty to the character, so why would i spend money on a toy of him?
overall, ad icons are a much harder sell than, well, most other properties.
however, one of the nice things about funko is that they don't always make things for the money. sometimes, they make stuff just because it's cool and someone (brian) wants to see it get made. so, none of these ideas are out of the realm of possibility, no matter how few they'll sell. it just might be harder to convince funko that some of these ad icons are worth representing as toys.

Re: More Ad icons
I look at ad icons in a completely different way... They have very little to do with the actual product... Maybe 10%. The majority of these icons are more happy childhood Saturday morning cartoon memories... And I bet that's the case for a majority of the people who want them.
If the 3 current ones didn't sell that well, I think it has more to do with the fact that the cereal only comes out around Halloween.

Totally the reason why I got them. Never ate the cereal but remembered the commercials and that time in my childhood

Okay, if you want to add glitter to that glue you're sniffing, that's fine, but don't dump your whackadoo all over us. We'd rather not step in it.

Great list. Most of these funko has already made as wobblers years ago. It would be fun to see them as pops though.

I would be interested in most of those in the first post. None of the real people, though. The shamwow guy was arrested as he and a prostitute got in a bloody fist fight several years back.
