OK, maybe I missed something, as I don't pop in here as often as I should. I've been really excited about the SDCC announcement and there have been some really good ones so far. However, the Ad Icon line is probably the most exciting line for me and something I always look forward to hearing about.

I got a text this morning from my cousin telling me that Quisp was coming. I literally yelled out as this is a Funko Pop I've been waiting for a long time to happen. I open up my instagram and quickly released that Quisp...is...not...a...Pop? Wait what?

This is the line I've been following since the start. Boo Berry was one of my first Funko Pops. 2018 was an amazing year for the Ad Icon line. Amazing. Sure the rumored McDonalds pops and Coke Bear never happened happened, but maybe someday.

2019 has been OK. Jolly Green Giant, Sprout, Otter Pops, and the upcoming Kool-Aid Man. Cool. However, doesn't mean I'm not worried. When the Tootsie Pop Owl was first announced as not being a pop, I figured he would come as a pop soon after or at SDCC. Yet, no news. Now, Quisp and Quake are vynls? Really? This line started out as being Pops, and I fear that they may never get Pops.

I'm a little worried. I love this line, but it's hard to get excited when the line is going to other formats versus where it started it all.

So my question is for those that have been paying attention, has there been any indication that this was the plan? That it was going to go to other formats? I'm just wondering what's going on here and if this is something we should expect in the future? I've been waiting a long time for Quisp to enter Pop form, and it was just really disheartening to see it as a vynl today.

Sorry for the rant. I love Funko and I hope that one day we get the McDonalds, Coke Bear, Tootsie Pop Owl, Quisp, Quake, and many others in the line.

Funko may be using these figures as a marketing tactic. Let's be honest, they could be using these launches to boost the Vynl Line. Just like everything else, if they roll out to many at once, they loose the interest.

Look at Disney and the Star wars line. They have been churned out and the value behind the pops are not there. When looking at shelves in box stores, time after time you see a numbe of these pops that hit clearance because they never sell. If they do this with the Ad Icon line it lowers the value and that is something Funko does not want.

I agree with you. I’d really want to get these characters in pop form since ad icon pops are always in demand and are very popular. Especially with the funko shop. We haven’t gotten an ad icon pop since pillsbury from ECCC and that was only because of ECCC. We really haven’t gotten a regular shop release since Buzz The Bee way back in December. People can only ASSUME that wha you listed will release, but that doesn’t mean it’ll release in pop form. It’s hard considering that I only collect ad icons too, I just wish we got way more especially the ones that aren’t pops.

I think they want to draw people to their other lines by releasing them there first. I'm sure it will come as a pop soon enough

They are making less convention exclusive pop ad icons but also seem to be distributing a lot of ad icons as commons now. 2018 was definitely the year of the ad icon; maybe there are issues with licences. So excited for the new Cheetos Chester coming out

Along the same lines of what I said with BK, I feel like those companies that would be down to work with Funko. The crazier the ad campaigns are in my head, the more likely they would be like “heck yes” when Funko came knocking with an offer!

i know it might be a stretch/crossover - but a butterfingers/bart simpson pop would be appropriate. another fun suggestion might be the Budweiser frogs - albeit they didn't have the longest run of commercials i think they are pretty well remembered.
