I had the joy of making the tough decisions on deciding which 65 or so Star Wars Pops I was going to keep to fit in my dedicated Star Wars displays and which ones I was getting rid of. At some point you gotta ask yourself questions like: Do I need 5 of this character? Do I need the entire line for Rebels or Movie X? how many different storm troopers do I need? lol It was rough but I kept my favorites up.

Three versions? I thought two of this (red) sith version and 1 of a regular jump trooper (white) right? If that’s the case then yes 3 I was wondering if you were connecting the holy grail sith trooper that came out last year

I think they announced it earlier in the year once covid hit that there would be changes including stock limit lowering of some new releases.

Source? Or are we mis interpreting less new releases (which has happened) as lower stock counts

Well, I think it was all but confirmed that stock on new releases is considerably less now after seeing SDCC. It seemed like nothing shared was over 10k and it used to get up to 30k per figure. I can't say I hate it. I didn't get everything I wanted but there's more energy around new releases than I've seen in a long time.

If the common release came out for last years as was originally advertised...i dont think anyone would care about it. i.e. Batman vs Superman 2 pack.

Yeah if the regular release comes out there's no demand for this one. It's crazy how high the price is.

If it indeed never gets made ever, then it really is something that has the same LE counts (or perhaps even less) than the other SW Funko "Grails" out there given how little supply was on the showroom floor for sale each morning. So the price would be semi reasonable given its LE count as a SW pop. However, given the sticker says "debut" on it. There is a huge gamble picking this up at current market price because Funko can totally at any time (provided they still have the license) pump this release out at it's common numbers with the only difference being it doesn't have a "debut" sticker without breaking any ...collector rules. The sticker says debut...not an LE count. I don't know about you, but that's a big gamble to pick one up at it's current market value. It's what $1500 right now? if 1-2-3 years from now a common comes out...I don't know what sticker (or even box color) is worth an extra $1490+ to any sane person.

It’s like the blue box Star Wars pops that are no different than the black box releases. It’s not really worth any extra considering you could easily switch out the pop from the box and you are only paying extra for a different box color.

Yep, or the subset collectors of the big letters for the older blue boxes. Remember when the overseas ones were released (Amidala, Lando, etc.), some people wanted the older ones but eventually no one cared anymore.

While I agree with this for sure. I don't see many or any companies making ROS toys long term. And most short term either. That movie and its toys were DOA.

Diamond select was asked what future sequel toys they had in the future and they pretty much said there is little to no demand for them. I think I would get a sith Rey and call it a day with the sequels. SIth trooper (and Knights of Ren for that matter) we hardly knew thee.

Yeah I'd find it very difficult to pay 1500 for one. I wonder how many people are shorting theirs now. Sell it for 1500 and buy it back if it ever drops. Collectibles are high across most hobbies now. I can't imagine these markets staying this high much longer. But who knows?

I just sold mine to buy a computer for my art and gaming. It’s an amazing Pop, but a computer to me is a lot cooler. And like people have said it’s a gamble to hold on to it when Funko could decide to release it at any moment.

I think that's pretty smart. I hold all my stuff because I'm too lazy to move them. Haha. But it's getting to a point where I may sell some high dollar items. I'm seriously thinking about moving sports cards. Collectibles are high right now but sports cards a insane.

With this particular pop I personally think if something gets released at this point it will be different enough that the original will still be desirable.

I paid retail for my Sith Trooper so I'm in no hurry to move it. But if it continues to run I may move it as well.

Yeah this one hurt me being a Star Wars fan. But it’s ok. Maybe one day I’ll have it.
