I wonder if/when there is a first wave, who they will release. Like, does the license cover all 32 teams and Funko decides? Is for only a few teams and that's who gets released either way? (I always am so curious about the ins and outs of the licensing :-k

).

If they get all 32, for the first wave I would guess they release:
Dallas
New England
Seattle
maybe Green Bay or Pittsburgh?

I would venture a guess that the license would cover all the teams, players, mascots.

I like the idea of mascots over players... considering players change teams so much nowadays, its tough to collect players for a certain team.

Some teams dont really have mascots either. My packers dont, the mascots are cheeseheads, aka the fans
