My sis was an expat in Japan and confirmed it’s a the thing. They preordered KFC family meals like some American families would preorder holiday ham or turduckens lol

Each Olympic games would be it's own separate license since I think the city that hosted each game also has a right to the mascot they created together with the Olympic committee.

For me, I'd want all of Sanrio characters, Afro Ken, Pucca and Garu, and lastly Crayon Shin-Chan
Not necessarily ad icons but pretty iconic characters over the years I grew up with.

Not sure if it's considered an ad icon but they made a Shiba one for Pops around the world. I love Shibas so I'm in for one...plus he's wearing a samurai costume lol
