Honestly, I was trying to find something to watch on Netflix and came across Witcher without any notion of the storyline and who was in it. First time I saw Geralt, I thought who is that actor? He sure looks like Superman lol

I still haven't seen any episodes yet (hoping to tomorrow, since I'll be home doing nothing - other than taking down my Christmas decorations) but am wondering:

How close to the books and game is the Show?

The showrunner has made it very clear that she is adapting the books ONLY. Im sure playing the game will help one understand some names/places though.

From what im reading on social media, there are some key moments that were left out or differ. But some of that should be expected due to time constraints. A real hot topic right now seems to be Brokilon Forest.

I finished both series nursing a cold last weekend. Witcher would make a cool pop. My only complaint is the story line’s confusing timeline with three arcs.

I binged the series. It's a good thing they didn't release it over time, otherwise the time jumps would have been a lot more confusing.

coming from someone that never played the game, I had to read recaps in order to understand the timeline. so confusing at first.

I recommend you watch the show because it pretty much starts from the beginning and tells the tale just as the games do. The games are much more farther ahead understandably so like he said you could be consuming spoilers without knowing
