With no actual knowledge on this, I would think that if there is any particular UPC code they're looking for, if we are able to find the correctly branded bottles in the wild before 2/1, I think we'd be good. Of course, finding them in the wild is the real challenge!

Yeah, I've ran into a few convenience stores and have yet to find the bottles with the promo label...so I think you're right that might be the real challenge here.

Just when I think I have nothing to hunt for, this comes along! I knew that lull as too good to last!

The OP was asking if the specific label needs to be the new promo version, or will the older bottle labels (non-promo) work just as well.

Seems to me there's an easy-ish way to settle this question - we need to compare a current not-promo bottle UPC to the UPC on the promo bottle pictured in this thread. If the UPC code is the same, then I think we have our answer. They're probably counting on us needing the instructions on the promo bottles to get the pop, at the very least. It wouldn't surprise me if they tweaked the UPC code on the promo bottles though!

So who has a non-promo bottle to compare for us? lol

I was thinking the same thing. If no one already has a bottle, is there anyone going to a gas station or grocery store and can snap a quick pic of a UPC code for 20 oz Dr. Pepper?

I wouldn't doubt it! Everyone is going to be waiting for that moment they can message in.

I was going to wait til midnight to buy the Dr Peppers in case they wanted to receipt proof after we text the UPC codes. But I also don't want to miss out because I waited until midnight PST. I'm not sure now.

I dont see how they can tell the difference from the new and old label because the the upc doesn’t change. Specially if we have to send receipts.

I suppose I’ll just get from eBay if I decide to get one. I enjoy Dr. Pepper but stopped drinking soda many years ago after I began reading ingredients labels. The amount of sugar in soda is over the top. And I also try to stay away from artificial sweeteners. Besides... chocolate is my preferred sugar delivery system.

Yeah, it should be about $1.79 per bottle depending on where you live and where you get it. Pour them out, give them to others.
