Your ReAction Questions Answered Here!

Let's talk about Funko and Super 7's great line of ReAction and Legacy action figures. They don't bobble or pop, but they thrill in their own fun way.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering about the UM Brides dress.

Generally the legs are very close together on these kind of figures to make the 'legs' look more like a dress/robe (vintage Leia/Obi-Wan), however on the Bride the legs are quite far apart, making them look more like flared pants.

Was this a production issue or a design choice?

I noticed we have a few more figures like this coming up, such as a Big Trouble in Little China characters. Would their legs be closer together as in the promotional images, or further apart like the Bride?

Thanks!

No, this was not a design choice. The legs were supposed to be together, but the plastic used by the factory warped. We've since made sure that this won't happen again. The Big Trouble figures with the dress/legs look perfect!

Incidentally, you can always use the hot/cold water trick to fix the Bride's legs. Just run hot water over her while holding the legs together for about 2 minutes, then (still holding the legs together) run her under cold water for another 2 minutes. They should stay in that shape.

Yes, we do have a second series of Nightmare Before Christmas figures on the short list. Not so much on the wrestling, although I agree those would be awesome! I think the licensing for a lot of those characters is a little difficult to pin down. At least, that's what I've heard.

Hi Reis

What are the chances of you ever doing any figures of non copywrited items like Santa Claus?

Also I love the Universal Monster and Horror figures any plans on ever doing anymore Halloweenish/Horror figures?

Just a quick note, the Reaction line is what made me a true Funko collector ( I had a few POP's and two masters of the universe bobble heads but now I buy 2-3 Funko related items per month, more than any other line.)

We don't currently have any plans for any non-licensed characters, but I would totally love to do a few, with Santa being at the top of my list!

And yes, we have series 2 of the Horror line on the short list. :)

Hi Reis, now that we are seeing series 2 of the Alien Reaction figures, any further info on the two other colored Kane in spacesuits we saw pictured months ago? Are they even going to be released?

Hi Reis,

Thanks so much for doing this! Exciting to have the artist answer questions about the ReAction lines :)

With a license like 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' how did Funko decide who to make in the first series? I think it's interesting that Oz made the cut but not Xander, for instance. Here's hoping Funko completes at least the Scooby Gang for Pop! if not ReAction too.

Hmmm... Good one. I guess the ones I assumed would have action figure lines and never did would be Dark Crystal, E.T. and Goonies. Those would be my top three. But I also wanted Conan the Barbarian, Beatsmaster and Ghostbusters.

I know we've talked in the past about how close to the wire you can get with these as adult collectibles, i.e pulp fiction, alien chestburster

I wondered if this might apply also to Jaws? Could you envisage doing Hooper in wetsuit with severed head, for example? It's one of the most memorable scenes in the movie, up there with the first appearance of the creature in Alien.

Or do you think you will play it safe in terms of gore etc in the future?

Also that made me wonder whether you guys have ever talked about doing classic movie 'scenes' like mini dioramas. And if you just like the idea, any you would choose?

You'll see soon enough how gross we're willing to go with a certain giant great white shark. ;)

We haven't so much thought about "scenes" or "dioramas" so much as we're looking into playsets, which essentially serve that purpose.

May I ask where the company's philosophy is regarding Season 1/2/3 characters from The Walking Dead like Andrea, Shane, Lori & Dale? Any chance you guys will work them in so that all the seasons are represented?

Thx!

I hope I'm not promoting a leak but I have just seen four of the new Star Trek TOS figures - Spock, Uhura, Bones and Sulu and they are incredible. I am going to be ALL over these.

One quick question Reis, I noticed that the figures seem to have a single accessory each, i.e. tricorder for Spock and Phaser for Sulu. But obviously the core characters often used more than one at any given time, i.e. Spock with a tricorder, phaser and communicator.

I understand the cost pressures in producing multiple accessories but would there be an option down the line to obtain extra accessories, perhaps as a pack-in with a playset? :-)

Again, without wanting to promote a possible leak, I've seen the Firefly Legacy figures and all I can say is WOW!! =D>

Can't wait to see what other surprises you have for us this weekend.

Yes, for cost purposes, we had to try and limit each figure's accessory to one. And we have no plans to include extra accessories with a possible playset, but now that you've suggested it, I like this idea very much! I'll make note of it and see how it works out cost-wise. That is, IF we are making a playset. ;)

Hi Reis,

with the Escape from NY figures, Michael Myers and the soon to be released Big Trouble in little China figures is there a chance for more John Carpenter Movie figures? Maybe the Thing (to keep Kurt Russell around)? The Fog, They Live, Vampires, In the Mouth of Madness and so on would give many options for great figures. Maybe not an entire line like BTiLC, but single figures spread out in the horror line or as single releases would be great.

Also, I would love any kind of Community (the TV Series ;) )figures. Any chance?

Thanks for spending your time to answer all our questions :thumbright:

No plans for any of those Carpenter movies. Although we talked about The Thing a while back. Not sure if we have the license locked down or not.

Sadly, I think Community figures would have been great a few of years ago. Now the show's popularity has waned too much, I think.

Another vote for The Thing. One of those cult 80's creature features like Alien that was too gross for a line of toys aimed at kids. Seems to me it fits the Reaction agenda perfectly.

Lots to see here, even if you can't see them close up:

http://toynewsi.com/ig.php?mode=view&al ... 0&sl=24231

Scarface
Star Trek
Taxi Driver
Fifth Element (not carded but under the Trek figures)
Breaking Bad
Tomorrowland
Karate Kid
Boondock Saints

The Jaws figures also look amazing, particularly Quint and Bruce the shark. Looks as if there's room in that mouth for Quint to fit! :-)

As predicted, Firefly Legacy figures are excellent.

The flash figures look good, but seem more like the reaction figures from last year are the flash figures final products or still test shots? Also, will captain cold get his freeze gun.

Hi Reis,

The pictures coming out of Toy Fair look great! Is what we are seeing represent most of the 2015 line? It looks like about 40 figures shown. I am very excited and will be buying all of them.

P.S.
I love the surprise of the Karate Kid line. I have a complete set of the Remco figures from 1986. Now, if only you guys could do Magnum Pi....
