Legacy sculptors

Let's talk about Funko and Super 7's great line of ReAction and Legacy action figures. They don't bobble or pop, but they thrill in their own fun way.

Legacy sculptors

Postby Poe Ghostal » Thu Nov 28, 2013 7:59 am

I'm curious who will be sculpting the Legacy figures. I'm fairly certain Gentle Giant sculpts Star Wars Black digitally, with some human touching-up after it comes out of the 3D printer.

Will Funko do the same? Or will they hire sculptors, like the Four Horsemen? Or maybe the recently Horsemen-resigned Chris Dahlberg? ( http://www.bergerinc.biz/) Phil Ramirez? Dave Cortes? Jason Frailey? Or perhaps some newcomers or unknowns?

I am pretty sure that between Funko and Super7 they have some qualified sculptors.

I know the guy who sculpted some of the Halo pop figures. Not a Funko employee but has done some awesome work for other companies as well. So Funko does outsource some sculpting.

Saw mock-up pictures for the figures that I believe we're totally digital. Don't know the process that well but thought that could maybe make a difference?

They do a lot of sculpting digitally with Z-Brush now.

I have a feeling it's Gentle Giant.

I'm pretty sure its the sculptors at Sideshow who do the Black Star Wars 6" not Gentle Giant there is no mention of Gente Giant on the packaging.

Gentle Giant does Star Wars Black 6". Hasbro doesn't credit Gentle Giant either.

Its nice to see some one giving Gentle Giant credit. DST do on there Marvel Select line so i can't see why Hasbro don't.

Brian i can not wait to see what you do with this line of figures so much potential. I'm so excited for this line but more so the Horror ReAction line you would think i was a child.
