10 Questions about ReAction with Funko's Brian Mariotti

Let's talk about Funko and Super 7's great line of ReAction and Legacy action figures. They don't bobble or pop, but they thrill in their own fun way.

10 Questions about ReAction with Funko's Brian Mariotti

Postby Jeff Cope » Mon Jan 27, 2014 7:43 pm

I hope this isn't against forum protocol. If it is, I apologize. But, I just did a brief Q&A with Brian about the ReAction line for Action Figure Insider. No big reveals. That's what Toy Fair is for. But, there is a pretty significant scoop in there. See if you can find it.

Great stuff!

Playset already, interesting. I've got a dollar on a Buffy library set. (Although a Nostromo dining room with splodey-belly-action Kane would be delightful too!)

I'm thinking Alien Queen with Egg Chamber! I would be up for several other sets too. I hope these do so good that Hasbro and Mattel take notice. Play sets are sorely missing from Star Wars and they were the highlight of 70s and 80s action figure lines.

Nice article, thanks for sharing.

I might have missed it previously, but I don't remember the Rocketeer being mentioned before, that's pretty awesome. I wasn't sure how much I would get into the ReAction line, but I doubt I could pass up on the Rocketeer!

Haven't really collected action figures before but Funko is hyping it up pretty well and I'm sure they'll deliver. Looking forward to what the fans think!

Playsets are going to be awesome. I hope we get The Magic Box from Buffy. The library would probably make more sense early on but I'll take both. There is plenty of stuff they could do. A pirate ship or cave set from Goonies, Lou's Cafe or a Delorean from BTTF, the Enterprise from Star Trek, I mean bring it on.

Thanks for sharing!

I hope we will hear something about The Dark Crystal figures at Toy Fair. I'm looking forward to those as much as I was the 1979 Alien line. I'm also hoping that the other remaining characters from Alien show up in a future wave as well. And even though Prometheus wasn't the hit that it could have been, I hope to see figures from that too.

Jeff, great interview; very informative considering Brian has been very protective of this line. I'm not into these kinds of toys (yet), but have to admit I'm pretty excited to see the new line. I'm guessing the Funko booth is going to be a big deal at Toy Fair.

I'm really gratified that you all enjoyed the interview. Hopefully there will be more to come in the future.

Obviously, I'm really excited about the ReAction line. It is what brought me to the Funko boards. ReAction is probably what I'm most looking forward to finding more about at Toy Fair (well, vicariously through the internet).

I hope they cheapen up on the playsets and include cardboard backdrops like the old Land of the Jawas, Cantina, etc. That would be so rad!

I agree with this post 100%. I would have to get my mitts on a Rocketeer if he's put out!
